Colour Creations Insta Hop - Week 15 - Cherry Cobbler

Rustic Centrepiece has been in my craft room for a couple of weeks but I hadn't had a chance until now to ink it up. Most likely the delivery of some pre-order goodies from the upcoming holiday mini catalogue inspired this burst of creativity and the chance to use some Cherry Cobbler DSP for the Colour Creations Insta Hop.

Pine Tree Trimmings was in Monday's delivery too providing the perfect greeting for both the inside and outside of this card. All the stamping has been done with Early Espresso to carry forward that rustic feeling.

The wood grain DSP is Country Woods, which has been with us for more than 12 months now because it is selling so well still. Perfect for these types of card and outdoor/masculine scrapbook pages.

The Cherry Cobbler polka dot paper is a 'b' side piece from Traditions of Christmas DSP. The other side has lovely softly coloured flowers and gold foil. but this side was perfect for my rustic card.

Happy crafting, and I will be back on Friday night with another card created from this stamp set.

Colour Creations Insta Hop - Week # 44 - Poppy Parade

Contributors to this insta-hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting & crafting together. This week is week #44 and we are creating with Poppy Parade.

Thankful Garden is a new Online Exclusive, released March 4th along with lots more Online products. I liked this one so much I ordered the suite, which includes stamps, dies, masks, patterned paper and ribbon.

The other flower is a lovely Hydrangea, but this flower seemed more likely to be a bright Poppy Parade. Country Woods DSP was out on my desk for another card I was making, and I decided the textured wood made a great background for the flower.

This bundle is perfect for those of us who don't always want to colour with Blends or pencils. There are 5 masks in the Thankful Garden bundle, 3 are for the two flowers and 2 are for the leaves.

Placing the masks over the stamped image allows you to layer on colour with a blending brush and even with the one ink colour you get a pleasing variation. I used only Poppy Parade and Old Olive.

I hope you are inspired to create,

CTC#510 CASE March Online Exclusives

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

When you shop online you often see pictures of samples pop up, and this was one offered for Textured Notes. I only ordered the bundle at this stage so went to Country Woods DSP for a paper with an interesting, yet subtle print.

The outer borders were cut with the larger die for my CASE, and the sentiment was stamped directly onto the smaller label.

Now it's your turn. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE.

Next, we're hopping to see what Rochelle Blok is sharing this week.

Happy crafting,

Colour Creations - Week 41 - Pecan Pie

Our focus colour for week 41 is Pecan Pie and it seems to fit the bill for this hamburger birthday card.

Beginning with a Pecan Pie card base, I paired it with a patterned paper from Floral Delight DSP. You would probably call it the 'B' side as most of this paper pack is yellow flowers!

I tried stamping in black Memento ink but ended up preferring the burger from Bistro Burger stamped in Early Espresso and the fries in Crushed Curry. The knife and chopping board were cut from a selection of papers, mainly Country Woods DSP.

Then it was time to colour and diecut before assembling the card. A wide assortment of shades were used on the hamburger bun, the rest was a little easier.

The recipient of this card is currently snowboarding on powder in Japan with his parents & siblings and will arrive back in Australia on his 17th birthday - what a life these youngsters lead these days!

All products used to make these cards are Stampin' Up! and are available in my online store or contact me to find out more details.
It is a good time to shop during February as SALE-A-Bration continues until the 28th where you earn free product with every $100 increment of your order, so one stamp/die bundle will usually get you there, but it is also a good time to stock up on the basics like card and glue.

Sketch #6 With the Great American Stamping Show

To help inspire my crafting I'm following along with the Great American Stampin' Show as they use the sketches from the catalogue as inspiration. This week it is sketch #6 and as usual, you do not have to follow strictly to the same formula. Use the sketch to inspire, and don't forget to send the cards you create.

I found this week's sketch was really helpful in creating the Country Birdhouse card. Beginning with cutting the 3 rectangles 2½" by 1¾" from the Country Woods DSP because it is relatively neutral, I had the idea that my 'circle' would be a simple sentiment or flower.

Just for fun I stamped the birdhouse onto a couple of pieces of DSP and constructed a couple of different birdhouses before settling on this Coastal Cabana timber.

Water colouring was a technique included in our August class, so there was a lot of water colour paper left over to cut small flowers and leaves. Once coloured and dried they make a pretty embellishment on the card.

CTC #483 CASE the Colours of To Market DSP

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

It seemed a good idea to use this sketch for this week's colour challenge at CASE-ing the Catty because it has a number of parts to bring in the many colours in the To Market DSP. I managed to use each one: - Blackberry Bliss, Garden Green, Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red.

Frosted Forest was the most recent bundle to arrive in my craft room, so it proved to be the perfect candidate. After stamping the tall tree, I used the masks and a blending brush to layer on the colours. Pecan Pie and Garden Green made their appearance here.

The natural, woody papers in Country Woods DSP really suit nature-inspired subjects like trees so I used two here. A Blackberry Bliss card base is a strong contrast with the Pumpkin Pie zig zag strip. It just left Real Red, so I dyed some white twine with a Real Red Stampin' Blend.

The bundle is an online exclusive, which mainly means you won't find it in a catalogue. It can be ordered through a demonstrator, and I am happy to help with that over the phone or click on the shopping link below to place your order.

Now it's your turn. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE.

Next along the hop is my good friend, the talented Kathryn Mangelsdorf.
