CTC 490 CASE the Reindeer Suite

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

I need a number of birthday cards this month so tackled the October 15th birthday with a CASE of the cute card pictured in Granny Apple Green in the above photo.

After substituting Full of Life DSP for the texture embossing, I continued on with gifts around the bottom of the cut out and swapped the reindeer for a bunch of flowers.

The gift dies are part of the Reindeer Fun suite but can certainly do double duty as birthday presents. The repeat stamping of 'happy birthday' went relatively well for a free-hand effort, except for a little smudge which has been hidden with an additional die cut.

Now it's your turn. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE.

Next crew member sharing this week is Peta Stephen

I have been an active Stampin' Up! demonstrator for 14 years, and thanks to my wonderful team, I am at Silver Elite level. One of the joys of crafting is sharing it with others, so I hold monthly classes both in my home and in the community. Do get in touch if you have questions about classes or Stampin' Up! products.

From Scraps on the Desk - Berry Burst

I've been home a week from my trip to Canada & Alaska and trying to keep up with the usual routine. I thought I would make a card for this week's Colour Creation Blog Hop featuring Berry Burst, but forgot to let Cathy, our co-ordinator know!

The idea in my head did not develop the way I expected it to, but I like this little creation, made mainly with scraps off the desk. There are just a few daisies snipped from Layers of Beauty, some butterflies from Sketched Butterflies and a sentiment from Attention Shoppers

The planned part of the card is the Cute Crochet 3D EF with a window opening cut and Full of Life DSP behind. It makes me happy to use up some of the leftovers accumulating in the craft room, do you do that too?

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 3 - Pretty in Pink

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting & crafting together.

This is week 3 and we are highlighting all the charm of Pretty in Pink. If you have used Stampin' Up! products for a while, this name/colour may be familiar. It was a popular pink when I joined 13.5 years ago, but when we had the 2nd-last colour refresh it was dropped.

I'm very pleased to see it back as it is a real "girlie pink"- can I say that? I went all-out, using all 4 sides of the In Color DSP for the back ground. It's not too much is it?

Attention Shoppers is one of my top three favourites in stamp sets, it is so fun and you can mix & match to suit the recipient. A little paper-piecing created a matching shopping bag, rosè is the wine of choice and the flowers are in shades of pink & Lemon Lolly.

Petal Pink was also included to add a little variation to the colour scheme. It was useful when I wanted to stick to shades of pink for the cake inside the card.

Sweetly Scripted, especially the birthday greeting is a lovely one to stamp across the page, and I couldn't resist colouring the loops on a fun card like this.

Now we are off to see what the talented Kathryn Ruddick has shared this week.

If at any time you find a broken link or would like to see a full list of participants, please head to the blog of our host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Catherine Proctor.

Happy crafting,

CTC #369 -CASE the Mix & Match Section

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too. You may have just landed here, or perhaps you arrived from Julia's blog.

One of the things I noticed about the mix and match section was that many of the cards share a similar design. While they have used different card bases, sentiments and ephemera, many of them gather a group of those items around a central point. The bottom two lines in the picture above mainly have the focal point centred, others used the same idea but positioned the group to one side.

I haven't CASE-d any particular card, but just tried out my version of the grouped items. I included two of my favourite new stamp & die bundles with some fresh new In Colors. Country Flowers on the left has been getting lots of use in my craft room. The cottage-y quaint images are very usable and the fonts on the sentiments only add to the sweetness.

The other bundle is Attention Shoppers with a shopping trolley, gift bag, pot plant, flowers, cake & wine. From a stamp set I was definitely NOT buying; it transformed into a big favourite after seeing a demo by Mikaela Titheridge. Do you ever find that?

These 4.5 inch square cards are finished inside too.

The talented  Peta Stephen follows this week at CASE-ing The Catty.

Ice Cream Swirl

Ice Cream Swirl has been in my crfat space for sometime, but had not been used until this week. I had a second background brayered in Petunia Pop, Fresh Freesia & Highland Heather.

I like the fact you can either stamp the parts of the ice cream and die cut, or just die cut. Just look at the lovely, soft, swirl of ice cream!

After borrowing the birthday greeting from Attention Shoppers and stamping on Petunia Pop, it still needed something more. I stamped several strawberries, coloured them and added two berries which brightened the card.

Inside, another sentiment from Ice Cream Swirl and some strawberries, so sweet!

All products used to make these cards are Stampin' Up! and are available in my online store or contact me to find out more details.Your orders are very much appreciated, no matter how small or big, every little bit helps me to meet my minimums, and keep on creating. Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 46 - Smokey Slate

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person, which we did recently for Onstage - our annual Stampin' Up! conference. This is week 46 of our blog hop and the featured colour is Smoky Slate.

Smoky Slate is a soft grey which is featured in the Country Woods DSP coming in the new catalogue and released May 1st. I used it in my last blog post for another challenge and it was tempting to do so again. Fortunately, I found both time & inspiration and made two cards this week.

CARD 1:

Spotlight on Nature was my choice to use for card one. When my demo friend Kathryn was staying with me, I took the opportunity to stamp some images and die cut some circles with this set, her pick for our 'After Hours Stamping' session.

Colouring with blends is one of my favourite things, and on Friday I received the new blend colours so I tried out Shy Shamrock mixed with a little Wild Wheat for the leaves and Petunia Pop with some Berry Burst for the flowers.

The stamp set has made its way back to Adelaide with its owner so I fussy cut a bloom from the stamped images and glued it inside the card.

CARD 2:
The Country Woods striped paper reminded me of beach shacks/boat houses so the images were stamped from Beach Day.

Two surf boards were stamped on the striped colour pieces and die cut. The 'happy birthday' has been borrowed from a new stamp set Attention Shoppers.

Let's go check out Di Furniss' fabulous work of art.
