CTC 490 CASE the Reindeer Suite

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too. 

I need a number of birthday cards this month so tackled the October 15th birthday with a CASE of the cute card pictured in Granny Apple Green in the above photo.

 

After substituting Full of Life DSP for the texture embossing, I continued on with gifts around the bottom of the cut out and swapped the reindeer for a bunch of flowers.

The gift dies are part of the Reindeer Fun suite but can certainly do double duty as birthday presents. The repeat stamping of 'happy birthday' went relatively well for a free-hand effort, except for a little smudge which has been hidden with an additional die cut.

Just Peachy Flowers

A piece of Peach Pie In Color DSP was lying on my desk and so it has been added to this card too - circles on circles.

Inspiration for colouring the teapot and flowers from Country Flowers has come totally from the Full of Life DSP.

 I've shared images of the main components used to make this set of cards, in case you are wanting to make similar cards.

Two Ways With Coloured Squares

Using a similar piece of Full of Life DSP for both these cards you can still achieve a different look. The same urn or bucket has been used with one coloured in and the other stamped on the denim-like paper from Country Lace DSP.

A small stamp from the Country Flowers stamps was stamped on some of the squares for added interest and this time colour was added to the word from Thoughtful Moments HEF with ink and a blending brush.

The second card has almost a card front-sized piece of DSP, although the squares were the guide for the size of this card front.

 If you are needing to replenish your stamping supplies, this may be a good month to do it.

Country Flowers In The Pink

This is a simple design using a leftover strip of Full of Life DSP from another card front with the join covered with Petunia Pop ribbon.

The flower stamp from Country Flowers Bundle was stamped along one side of the card front, beginning with the middle image so it was balanced. Finally, with the colouring of sentiment and flowers finished using Stampin' Blends, we have a finished card.

Green & Leafy Country Flowers

Full Of Life DSP is a 6" X 6" pack of 48 different sheets of paper. I'm thinking there are probably 6 each of 8 designs, but it may also be 4 of 12 designs as there do seem to be a lot of variations. I have made a bunch of cards to share over the next little while.

 

Restricting myself to the Country Flowers Bundle and this paper, along with a bunch of sentiments using the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder & Die was an enjoyable challenge this weekend.

Colouring with Stampin' Blends is probably the most enjoyable activity, and I love these images from Country Flowers. It was fun to experiment with shading the words too.
