Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 24 - Fresh Freesia

Fresh Freesia was introduced as an In Color in 2021 and was due to retire at the end of the last Annual catalogue earlier this year, but surprise, surprise - it entered our subtle range as a core colour!

I had two cards to make for two significant birthdays coming up soon. One is a 30th on 15th October, the other for a 95th on 17th October.

Card 1: Fancy Fold for 95th Birthday

The 95th is for the mother of one of my team members, Leanne. Her mother, Rhonda has been staying with her daughter for a few months and enjoys coming to card classes with Leanne. We all enjoy her delightful company and sense of humour!

I'm not sure what the name of this fancy fold is but I'm fairly sure it was fellow Art With Heart team member Kate Morgan who shared it at some stage. I used DSP from Masterfully Made (AC) & Delightful Floral (online exclusive) because they matched so nicely. The large flowers were cut from the Delightful Floral paper, as I was waiting on the Translucent Florals bundle to be delivered.

Rhonda does not let age hold her back, she loves to make cards, crochet and get out and about keeping Leanne on the go. They are about to go on a cruise to New Zealand which I'm sure they will really enjoy.

Card 2: Fancy Fold CASEd from Emma Goddard Coastal Crafter

Masterfully Made DSP was the source of all the fancy papers for this 30th birthday card for my son's girlfriend. Lasting Joy provided the sentiment and flowers. The stems are stamped separately from the flowers so it was easy to use two different colours.

Alphabest had some small numerals suitable for this small square, with more flowers stamped at the base of the panel for writing a personal message.

Next team member this week is the wonderful Theresa Gerrard

If at any time you find a broken link or would like to see a full list of participants, please head to the blog of our host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Catherine Proctor.

  1. Look at you, killing three birds with one stone, creating cards for two special birthdays AND our blog hop! The cards are just lovely, Rachel. I especially love all the pretty florals on Rhonda's birthday card ... and the sentiment on the tag is perfect. On the card for your son's girlfriend, the stamped flowers and numbers are just gorgeous. Fresh Freesia is such a beautiful colour, and so suitable for any age group!

  6. Two amazing and gorgeous fancy fold cards Rachel. I am sure both Rhonda and your son’s girlfriend will be delighted with them. Your combination of DSPs, embossing, fussy cut flowers and stamped details work brilliantly on the two cards. xxx
