CASE An Easy Option CTC 522

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

The Father's Day card at the top left of this picture inspired me to pull Trusty Tools stamps and dies off the shelf to make a quick card. It's a very loose interpretation for my CASE, I needed an easy card for my community group and also wanted to participate in the CTC challenge. Some of them make Father's Day cards for a local school but there will be the option of a 'Happy birthday' greeting too.

The tools are small enough that colouring with Stampin' Blends was quick and I was able to use Darling Duckling on the tape measure. The mat behind the navy check DSP (Take to the Sky) is Darling Duckling too.

Initially I was going to use a tag from
Take To The Sky DSP but realised that the pegboard die was a good substitute and very easy too.

Now it's your turn. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE

Next on the Blog Hop is actually no. #1, the talented Julia Quinn.

Happy crafting everyone!

Something Old, Something New...

One of my grandsons is celebrating a birthday today and he is totally into "Olde Worlde", so his birthday request was braces and a gold pocket watch. To match the gift I 'borrowed' this pocket watch from a retired kit, Timeless Greetings and the greeting stamp seemed appropriate too.

Something old is Boho Blue, the lighter blue card which recently retired but pairs with Take To The Sky DSP, which is still current. The Adventurous Sky stamps and dies released to go with this paper are in the Last Chance section at a reduced price.

The 'New' is the two sentiments on the inside of the card. The Right Words stamp is found on page 89 of the latest Stampin' Up! annual catalogue. It includes many sentiments for both the outside and inside of cards, a frequent request from customers.

Do you hang onto old supplies or ditch them?

Sketch #10 With the Great American Stamping Show

To help inspire my crafting I'm following along with the Great American Stampin' Show as they use the sketches from the catalogue as inspiration. This week it is sketch #10 and as usual, you do not have to follow strictly to the same formula. Use the sketch to inspire, and don't forget to send the cards you create.

For this post I have shared a basic interpretation of the sketch, alongside a stepped up version.

Adventurous Sky was the chosen stamp set for card one, teamed with Take to the Sky DSP. This could be ideal for those tricky masculine cards so take a look at this suite on page 36-37 of the annual catalogue.

This is an exact copy of the measurements on the diagram, and luckily there are three sizes of stamped plane and the middle one was a good fit for the square.

The smallest plane was stamped inside along with 'happy birthday.'

Again, for card two, I have used the Take to the Sky DSP for the background. However, the Trusty Tools DSP has made a reappearance in the Clearance Rack for only $8.70 for a 12" X 12" pack of 12 sheets of double-sided paper and how easy is it to fussy cut the images from this paper to make a masculine card.

Inside a sentiment from Happiest Day, sits snugly beside a hammer. Trusty Tools is a current stam and die set which you can check out on pages 80 & 87.

I have been an active Stampin' Up! demonstrator for 14 years, and thanks to my wonderful team, I am at Silver Elite level. One of the joys of crafting is sharing it with others, so I hold monthly classes both in my home and in the community. Do get in touch if you have questions about classes or Stampin' Up! products.

Flying High

Recently I prepped a class for 15 using Adventurous Sky which required that many card fronts cut from this cloud paper. It also meant that I had many strips 10cm X 3cm left over which I decided to turn into a couple of cards, of which this is one.

Originally, I pasted the strips with even gaps onto a card front, but then decided to include the second paper to cover the gap. The tag is also a part of this Take to the Sky DSP pack.

With 3 sizes of planes included in Adventurous Sky, it's easy to find one to finish off the inside of the card.
Happy crafting,
