Dove of Peace FMS#203

There's been a bit of heat embossing going on at my place lately. It's not something I'm very comfortable with, but practice makes perfect, so that's what I'm working toward.

Dove of Peace was one of my must-have stamp sets from the Stampin' Up!® Holiday Catalogue. The patterns doodled on that lovely bird were irresistable, and it makes a simple, but lovely Christmas card. I have embossed with white embossing powder onto Sahara Sand, but can imagine it looking equally stunning on many other shades of card.

The simple sentiment, Peace, is actually from Peaceful Wreath, another of my new stamps. The Mini Treat Bag Thinlet has a cute little torn tape die that has cut the single word sentiment out. I should mention that this single wood mount stamp does actually have a verse from Luke 2:14 under the dove, but I have cut mine off, as I would prefer to put it on the inside of the card. I can still use it with a clear mount block, although I might just have a spare wood block.

I began with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, but because I chose to place the image on a square of card, instead of fussy-cutting the dove, it has only a slight resemblance to the original. Hope you like my latest card, I'd love you to leave a comment.
Cheers
Rachel
