Something Blue

Love this new Detailed  Dragonfly Thinlet Dies, which features on page 26 of the Stampin' Up!® Occasions Catalogue. I was lucky enough to be able to order it at the Stampin' Up!® Onstage at the beginning of November and had it delivered in time to make this card for my friend Christine's birthday on the 9th November. You'll be able to order it soon too, January 4th in fact when the Occasions Catalogue goes live. You might want to check out the Dragonfly Dreams stamp which co-ordinates, and remember - if you order them as a bundle using the special code, you get a 10% discount.

After playing about with re-inkers and water colour paper, I cut some dragonflies from the lovely mix of colours and the pink and peach shades contrast prettily with the blue & white Floral Boutique DSP, which you can find in the big annual catalogue (page 172). I laid the patterned paper over Fancy Frost, a white textured heavy weight 12" by 12" in the Holiday Catalogue. It is on special now in the Year-End Close Out Sale until January 3rd, and I've stocked up already.
I used the stitched circle thinlet to cut a base for a sentiment and the dragonfly, and scattered a few sequins about.
Remember to call if you need help with your crafting, and you can place an order, even in the middle of the night at my online store.

Cheers, Rachel

Winter Flowers CMCC#74

It is feeling mighty chilly in Melbourne this past week, the cold gets into my bones and I don't want to go anywhere. We are looking forward to a public holiday on Monday, so I have plenty of time to hang at home and play with paper, although it will be nice to catch up with family sometime too. I'm hoping to get a big brown box of Stampin' Up! goodies before the long weekend, but if it doesn't happen.... (It did happen - {feeling excited})

A monochromatic colour challenge from  Colour Me...! suits our wintery season, and the flower from Choose Happiness, stamped in Sahara Sand on watercolor paper, then lightly misted with water was my choice today.

I was inspired this week, by my friend's creativity after she stamped a flower all over the card front in different shades of pink. I told her I'd be CASE-ing her, although this isn't exactly what I had in mind. The CASE version will probably come later.
Because You Care was a hostess set in the recent Occasions Catalogue. The font is rather nice and I will keep on using it. I stamped in Soft Suede, as black looked really stark when I first tried that. A ruffle of spotted, dotted lace in TipTop Taupe has been added to the bottom and some pieces of gold from the gold bakers twine, because I forgot to order the new metallic thread.

Don't forget to check out the gallery at Colour Me, and have a good weekend.

Hey Valentine Birthday! Mojo379

Logan's 5th birthday isn't until Valentine's Day, but while I am on holiday, and have new stamps to play with, it seemed like a good time to start on one of the six grandchildren's birthday cards! This stamp is actually a Valentines stamp, but the minute I saw it, I resolved to  use it for birthdays. All my grandsons love dressing up, and pirate is such an easy dress-up to put together.

I had already coloured the image when I spotted the Mojo Monday sketch, (after a friend of mine used the sketch herself).  I decided it was perfect for this cute image. It was fun to colour too, even though I'm not so good at it. I figure the practice will help me improve! I am looking forward to more relaxing times with Blendabilities when I head to the coast with my husband for a few days. He doesn't like me filling the car with craft stuff, but I can fit my Blendabilities and some stamped images into a plastic container, so easy to transport.

Cheers, Rachel
