Pretty Pink Floral CI#58

Colour INKspiration is a fortnightly blog initiated by Bronwyn Eastley in Tasmania. The design team is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project.

Such a gentle colour challenge this time, chosen for us by Kelly Kent. It seemed perfect to keep the card soft and subtle also, so a floral stamp, Floral Essence, as yet unused, was chosen.

The flowers were stamped onto watercolour paper in Versamark, and sprinkled with white embossing powder. Next step was to watercolour the images with Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake ink. Later you rub the excess ink off with a tissue.

The sentiment was also stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder, to highlight the gold foil behind the Stitched Circle. The gold foil was die cut with a die from Perfect Parcels dies. I've used the sewing machine to sew it in place, but sadly, I don't think you can see it.

Next lovely team member on this loop is Rose Packer

Cats & Dogs WWYS#224

Playing with a new stamp set, Butterfly Wishes, and keeping to a fairly neutral palette, I made the decision to add cats and dogs to the composition. Gray Granite, Rococo Rose and Night of Navy are used for the first couple of cards, and just Gray & Navy for the last.
Perfect Parcel Dies were being run through the Big Shot, just to see how the pieces looked, and I decided to use the lacy floral  behind the label, which is also in that set of dies.

As soon as Nine Lives came out, it went in my shopping bag, and of course since then Happy Tails and a matching punch has been introduced. It has been a very long time since we had a dog, and our cat died last October, but when we first brought our puppy home, we also brought a kitten. Despite the dog being very large (eventually) she was always very gentle with the kitten, which usually wasn't quite as pleasant in return!

What Will You Stamp is using Nine Lives in their challenge, if you'd like to see more using this stamp set, or enter the challenge yourself, head on over.
