CTC 459 - CASE pages 23-31

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

This week we are CASE-ing Perennial Lavender pages 23-31 of the mini catalogue and invite you to join us with your CASE of a project from this section. You can be inspired by a layout, colours, choices of embellishments, and share with us what inspired you. Later in my post is a button which takes you to a Facebook page where you can share your project.

Everyday Details on page 28 inspired me to choose a single item, a coffee cup, in the centre of a die cut rectangle. Since I also own Everyday Details bundle, I could have copied this card exactly, but where's the fun in that?

Perennial Lavender DSP was still my choice for my card, but I stamped a cup from a NEW Online Exclusive which you can order from 5th March (Tuesday).

Latte Love Bundle 163461 $81.75

A Little Latte DSP 163453 $21.75

Latte Love is avaialable as a stamp set, stamp & dies bundle (10% saving on both) or as the Little Latte Suite which includes everything you see below:- a 12" x 12" pack of designer series paper, stamp, dies, ribbon and embellishments.

Little Latte Suite  163466 $135

The aperture was cut with Perennial Postage dies, to show a lovely gingham paper also from Perennial Lavender. Sometimes the 'B' side of DSP isn't noticed but these two are so nice.

So, for my project I CASEd the layout, the rectangle frame, a twine bow and a single focal image.

Now it's your turn. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE.

The talented Tina Gillespie follows this week at CASE-ing The Catty.

As soon as Stampin' Up! opened the pre-order for the latest mini catalogue (which is available until 30 April, depending on supplies) I knew that the Perennial Lavender suite had won my heart! The suite has two bundles Perennial Postage and Painted Lavender, plus designer series paper, paper butterfly accents and shimmer gems.
To make it even easier, I could order all those items by entering just one number - #162613 into my order.

It seems I was not alone, as it is the hottest-selling item from the catty, and was even unavailable for a short time, until late last week.

I don't run any classes over December and January usually, as everyone is too busy with friends, family and enjoying summer, including me, but I do begin to prepare for my card classes. The only difficulty is that I am away from home a good deal of the time and have only a box of the latest supplies, plus the tools I keep at our holiday house.

Card 1:

I always turn to the catalogue for inspiration when I have new stamps, and in this instance, I almost totally went with the design that was shown on page 22. I loved the Perennial Postage stamps and dies, so the idea of the double label was a winner, in my mind.

I wanted everyone to feel free to try a variety of different purple colour combinations by providing a large piece of Basic White for them to stamp more than the three images they needed for my design.

The large butterflies are available to purchase and leave as is, or colour using Blending brushes and ink.

My Saturday class all went 'rogue' and flipped the designer series paper to the other side, changed out the base colour and improvised their own designs for the decoration.

Card 2:

The card above was the first card for February class, a simple fold using half a sheet of card for the base, and a great way to show co-ordinating papers to their best advantage. It is so important to cut and use the pretty papers you order, and even those older ones you have been hoarding. I wanted everyone to see how pretty the butterfly postmark looked on the label, and I know they all loved that.

The only stamping for this design was the label sentiment, an good way to ease back into crafting if it has been a while.

Some took the option to do a little more stamping on the inside and were amused at my dilemma when 'big hugs' stamped crooked and I had to make a tag to hide it!

Card 3:

Card 3 was shared here already so you can click on that link to find out a little more about it. Craft & Chat classes are 2½ hours long and hopefully you learn something new at each one.

Masking and blending would have been the main technique this month, but also the idea of layering and mixing colours was another aspect. I would be happy to add you to my class list if you are able to travel to South Morang VIC for a session. Next classes are Saturday 2nd March 1:30 to 4, Wednesday 6th March 1pm-3:30pm and Thursday 7th March 10am-12:30pm.

All products used to make these cards are Stampin' Up! and are available in my online store or contact me to find out more details. It is a good time to shop during February as SALE-A-Bration continues until the 29th where you earn free product with every $90 increment of your order, so one stamp/die bundle will usually get you there, but it is also a good time to staock up on the basics like card and glue.

Colour Creations - Week 39 - Petal Pink

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person. This is week 39 of our blog hop and the featured colour is Petal Pink.

I held my first monthly card class this afternoon and I made my card for that class, to feature a colour other than purple/mauve with Painted Lavender. After die cutting masking paper with Everyday Details dies (that's an Online exclusive bundle) I used a blending brush to apply Petal Pink ink to the cut out circle.

Next I stamped the blossoms in Petal Pink, extending the tops beyond the circle and with another flower stem, stamped over the first in Flirty Flamingo.

The stems and greeting from Perennial Postage were stamped in Gray Granite before the art piece was die cut with a postage stamp die.

Of course, it always pays to finish the inside off for a first-rate card, don't you think?

Next stop on this hop is my lovely friend Rosa Leydon. I can't wait to see what Rosa has made!

If at any time you find a broken link or would like to see a full list of participants, please head to the blog of our host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Catherine Proctor.

Happy crafting,
