Crafting With Kids

One of the joys of having a well-stocked craft room is the fun you can have crafting with kids. My grand-daughter Alice was staying with me in the school holidays, and was just as excited as I was when my pre-order of Stampin' Up! goodies was delivered.

After dinner, we went off to have some craft time and Alice made a heap of cards, starting with a Mother's Day card for her lovely mum. I had to pull out Dressed To Impress for the 'mother's day' sentiment. Hand-penned Petals was the first stamp to see ink from pre-order, and we both coloured with Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils.

We've used the same stamp with a different placement, it will be a good set to play with, and isn't the script lovely?

Celebrating Mothers AWH Monthly Creative Showcase

Welcome to the Art With Heart Stampin’ Up! Team Monthly Creative Showcase. The theme for this month’s showcase is Mother’s Day. Under the current conditions Mother’s Day this year is going to be completely different to any other Mother’s Day celebrations. I have seven delightful grandchildren, the children of my three married sons and their wives, and as my husband commented at the weekend, "I even miss the mess they leave when they go home!"

The Art With Heart Team are hoping to share a little Mother’s Day love and inspiration with you tonight. Then it's time for you to get making, there's still time to create a card for Mother's Day and if you can't drop it and a gift on the door step, at least pop it in the post.

If I was making for my mother, it would have to be this Seaside Spray card, as blue was a favourite colour of hers. She also had a beautiful garden which she devoted a lot of time to, so I imagine the Ornate Garden Suite would have been right up her alley. I've used 3 of the floral stamps from Ornate Style. This stamp is bundled with the Ornate Frames dies, which I used on my second card.

This card also features the Ornate Floral 3D folder which has a lot of beautiful detail, and can of course be used de-bossed as well as, embossed. Now for my second card.

I've done a lot of mix 'n' match on this card, beginning with placing Terracotta Tile DSP from the Ornate Garden suite onto Roccoco Rose card. The Teapot has been coloured with possibly every pink Stampin' Blend in existence. The largest frame diecut is on the inside, and the second largest is die cut from Stampin' Up! Vellum, which is very stiff and the lace edges stand up beautifully.

The next demonstrator to share her Mother's Day card with you is the talented Caroline Manwaring.
