AWH SALE-A-Bration Blog Hop

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects using products from the sale-a-bration brochure. All sale-a-bration products are earned for FREE with sales of $90+ (AUD).
• If you spend $90, you get one free level 1 product.
• If you spend $180, you get one free level 2 product, OR, they can choose two level 1 items.
• If you spend $270, you have the option to choose three level 1 items or one level 1 item and one level 2 item.
The sale-a-bration promotion is current now until March 31st. Be sure to request your copy of the brochure today.
Sale-a-bration is also a great time to join our fabulous team. Ask any of the girls on the hop!

It was fun to put together these two bright cards using SALE-A-Bration products. Party Pandas, my first choice SAB pick had to be one and the Bubbles & Fizz DSP was the other.

I used the Stitched Shape Framelit dies to cut small squares from the DSP for a bright background. The party hat panda was stamped onto another Stitched Shape, this time a circle. I use these dies ALL the time.

Even the ribbon is a Sale-a-bration bonus pick (there are 3 spools in different colours) The Classic Label Punch always comes in handy for these small sentiments.

This card with the bottles uses the dies from the bundle, but not a single stamp! That's because the bottle dies cut out two sizes of images from the SALE-A-Bration DSP , Bubbles & Fizz.

Can you see the droplets of water? They're in the suite of products which you'll find on pages 32-33 of the Occasions catalogue.

I thought the sentiment from Perennial Birthday really suited the card!

Here's a 3rd card which uses some more of the Bubble & Fizz paper, a jar from Jars Of Love for bubble mixture, an icy pole stick from Cool Treats and the lid of an aqua painter.
Now you are heading over to see what my talented team member Leanne has made.

Picture Perfect Party for CTC#160

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, demonstrate Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project.

Image may contain: text

You've been able to order from the new Stampin' Up!® Occasions catalogue for a few days now, I wonder if you have yet? We are CASE-ing pages 4-9 this week, which takes in Picture Perfect Party Suite as well as some other summery stamp sets.
My daughter-in-law starts off the Palmieri family birthday year on January 5th, and one of her gifts is a pendant necklace. It has a black and white floral print, quite similar to the paper, with the odd flower coloured pink, just like I have done using a Stampin' Marker.

The layout of the centre card from the Catalogue pic is the one I chose to CASE here. The Petal Passion designer series paper (DSP) in black and white, is similar to the design on the pendant. Also, this floral has a stripe on the reverse, and the card I CASE-d used a strip of stripe at the bottom of the DSP. You can probably see that I've used the same greeting too.

The sentiment inside is from Picture Perfect Birthday, and the words are perfect for this lovely lady. You can check out this stamp set on page 5 of the Occasions Catalogue, it might just suit the birthday cards you need to make too.

This card is also CASE-d from page 4 but it's a smaller picture at the bottom of the page where two donuts sit on a pair of banners. I've struggled with this card, and ended up with two ice creams (Cool Treats) and two bottles from the NEW Bubble Over (page 32 Occasions). I used the 'treat yourself' from Bubble Over too, while 'Happiest Birthday' is from Cool Treats. I'm not sure if it's all too much, what do you think?

See those sweet little bottle caps? You get 4 in the die set, so you can cut multiples with each pass of the Big Shot. That seems like a good idea.

Next you are heading on to see the talentented Fi Cobbin

Three (Cool) Treats CTC #118

Hey there, welcome back to another round of CASE-ing The Catty. Sadly, this is the second time I've written this post, but apparently I failed to save it first time. I'm sure I won't be half as witty this time round, ha, ha! You may have arrived here from my lovely friend Elizabeth Gross, but if you've started here with me, do keep on following the links and go full circuit around the Blog hop. You will visit all parts of Australia and New Zealand. If any of the links are broken, you can get back on track here, just remember that you are visiting Rachel Palmieri, in Melbourne, Australia at the moment.

My inspiration for these cards comes basically from the rule of threes. Items placed in a group of three are most pleasing to the eye, as seen in the catalogue picture at the top of my post. There are three scoops of ice cream in the sundae dish and three icy poles on the card at the far right. Also, one of my very most-pinned cards, which I was attempting to CASE with new product, is from SALE-A-Bration last year and it has a similar layout to those ice creams.

When I have an opportunity to stamp, I often stamp a whole lot of one image, die cut them and keep them in a plastic container ready to use. This was the case with Cool Treats, and makes it so easy to try out different combinations. The Tasty Treats designer specialty paper is part of this suite of products, so it's natural that the perfect paper for the ice cream cones was included, and the die gives it delicious texture around the top. The background sheet of DSP has sprinkles on it. You can see this suite, Cool Treats on page 32/33 of your Occasions catalogue, online or ask me for a copy.

I happened to have scraps of the kraft 12" by 12 " card on my work table, after making boxes, so I used that for the Stitched Ovals. I love the definition the stitching gives to these shapes. I also happened to have a stamped flower image die cut on my table and thought it added a sweet feminine touch to the card.

The sundae was a bit of fun. After seeing our CEO, Sara Douglass, colour the glue in a fine tip glue pen, I wondered how it would work just layering the same glue on top of the die cut choccie pieces. I laid a few rows of them out on my teflon mat, dropped the glue till they were well-covered and left them overnight. I think you can see the luscious shininess on them, just like the real thing!!! The sprinkles were a little harder to apply as they are very, very small. A spoon cut from silver foil is just perfect too.

Happy Celebrations was on my table too, so I added the splattery colour using one of the stamps from that set. Instead of a doiley, I've used the two banners and a different sentiment, so it's not a direct copy of the catalogue. I really did like the Pool Party check paper though, and wanted to stick with that.

Don't forget, if you'd like to purchase any of these products, it's as easy as clicking onto my online shop, and checking out the various categories for the products you want. The Hostess code for March is 2RFDUTSY.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of inspiration as you hop from blog to blog. I do hope you enjoy it all.
Now you are heading off to Jackie Noble in New Zealand

Cheers, Rachel

Sixth Anniversary!

Today is the 6th anniversary of my joining Stampin' Up!® and in all that time I've never regretted that decision. I appreciate the structure of the company, which provides support to demonstrators, while they promote a quality product to help others create beautiful craft. I intended to be "just a hobby demonstrator", until some friends asked to have a stamping date, and that eventually developed into a monthly class. Six years later, I still hold classes, in-home parties for hostesses to earn free products and I have a team who I do my best to help achieve what they want from belonging to the Stampin' Up!® family. Best of all, over the six years, many new friendships have developed with other like-minded crafters, including demonstrators, team members and customers.

It's always more fun to stamp with friends, don't you think?

This month I decided instead of just sending a thank you card to my customers, I would cut up some DSP (that's our gorgeous patterned paper) and make some simple, sweet cards for my customers to send to someone else. Those who were at the parties have already picked theirs. One very clever stamp set, hidden right inside the back cover of the Occasions Catalogue was perfect for the sentiments. Suite Sentiments is its name and the paper pack I cut and used this time is Fruit Stand. This will retire at the end of May, so it needs to be ordered now if you too love the fresh fruity images.

With at least half the cards, I let the paper make the statement. These were the boldest papers which really needed no more embellishment than a piece of ribbon and a sentiment. But then came the stripes and spots, and it was lots of fun to dream up some different dies to dress them up. With the apples, I tried for an apple-like leaf from Vintage Leaves. The stripes in red reminded me of an ice cream parlour and Cool Treats were perfect here. This sentiment, although in the Suite Sentiments stamp set, is designed to co-ordinate with Cool Treats. Isn't that cool?

With the orange stripe, I've used an ornate die from Up & Away Thinlet Dies and the sentiment from Suite Sentiments that matches Carousel Birthday. Isn't it great how they've given us the opportunity to add on to our stamp sets? The other has a partial die from Dragonfly Dreams in copper foil, matched with a copper embossed sentiment on vellum. Lastly, the lemon spots is perfect for another Cool Treats. Fancy a lemon gelati, anyone?

I'd like to offer you this opportunity too, as SALE-A-Bration, which runs from January 4th-March 31st 2017 is an extra-special time to join. You choose $235.00 retail of product from the Annual or Occasions catalogue and only pay $169.00. This order not only has free shipping, it also includes two
extra stamp sets (up to a value of $179) at no additional cost. Your second order earns you SALE-A-Bration bonuses until the end of March, a great way to build your stamping stash. If you discover that this isn't for you, or your circumstances change, there are no penalties for dropping and you keep your purchased products.

There is more information at the top of my blog page, plus a link to join my team. Still not sure? Call me, 0417 500 681 or send an email with your queries.

I am Rachel Palmieri, situated on the northern side of Melbourne in South Morang.

All About Bugs and Beetles AWH Blog Hop

I'm excited to bring you a blog hop with some of the awesome ladies in the Art With Heart Stampin' Up!® Team. Today we focus on the kids in our lives, from birthday cards to party ideas.
SALE-A-Bration continues and this week we have three new additional items you can earn for free with a $90 order - ask me how!

Thank goodness my days of throwing kids parties are over. After raising 5 boys, I never want to return to that time again. It was far too hectic and crazy! I do like making cards and gifts for my six grandchildren, 5 of whom are....you guessed it - boys!!!!
I have enjoyed a bit of crafty fun last weekend, putting together a cute fancy fold card - Peekaboo Flap Fold. Stamp & Scrap With Frenchie provided a video and measurements, and I have just changed them slightly, to suit the way we make cards in Australia. This one wasn't particularly difficult and adds a nice touch of interest.

I decided to use Beetles and Bugs to make a card and bug box. My little boys have a great interest in insects, so it was a must-have on my Occasions Catalogue wish list. It's a photopolymer stamp set on page 38, and the sample hasn't worried one bit about realism, anything goes it seems. I went with Garden Green and a retired DSP to begin with and featured a big green beetle. I used the hexagon from the Build It Framelits to cut the opening in the flap in the card, and the piece that the beetle is stamped on so that they fit together perfectly. There is a slightly larger brown hexagon for it to sit on, which I hand cut by allowing a border all around the die cut piece. The 'nine' has been diecut four times in Pear Pizzaz and glued with Tombow before being stacked. It is attached to the card so that it can also hold it closed.

Initially, there was a trail of ants to add interest, but overnight I had a brainwave! I had a retired stamp set, The Great Outdoors, which I've kept as it features camping, and some family are keen on that, so it's handy to hang on to. I knew there was a larger ant in that set, and thought that would look great under a magnifying glass.

I cut three black rings using two circle framelits together, and used the icypole stick from Cool Treats as a handle. Two circles fitted on top of each other on the front, for depth and the handle, then a window sheet circle. Finally, to finish the magnifying glass off neatly, a black ring is glued to the back. When I use Tombow liquid glue on a tiny project like this, I leave it until it turns clear, and it is less messy. One of my team, Carmela, shared this tip with our team, and I use it often.

Some more insects have been stamped and coloured inside the card, along with a sentiment from Cool Treats.

The boxes are very easy using Window Box Thinlet Dies. It is made from two main pieces, and this one is very simply decorated. Every alternate panel has 'air holes' punched and the plain panels have a large beetle stamped in black. The white hexagon on the lid is another die cut with Build It Framelit Dies and for the Garden Green, I cut another 'box lid' segment and then cut it smaller using a mark on the trimmer as a guide. I was very pleased with how perfectly it turned out. You don't have to have these in graduated sizes after all!!!

Again, the Tombow glue allowed to set a little, is the way I chose to put my box together. All the folds are made with the framelit, and folded and scored with a bone folder prior to constructing. The stamping and other main decorations are also completed before adhering the little box together.

I bought the plastic bugs and beetles at a local chain store, and was able to fit 20 into the box without too much trouble. The other rather delightful thing with these boxes is how nicely the lid tucks in and stays put. If you'd love to make a Beetles & Bugs gift set, you'll find them 24/7 in my online shop under Occasions. The Window Box Thinlet Dies are paired with Window Shopping stamp set (page 43) for 10% discount for the life of this catalogue, or if you can manage with just one of the set, of course they can be purchased separately. Bugs & Beetles stamps is on page 38, at less than $30 it's a must-have if you make cards for kids.

I do hope you're enjoying this blog hop. Now it's time to hop along to see what Tina Gillespie has shared. She's so clever, it's bound to be great!
