Colour Creations Mint Macaron
The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. The colour for week 28 is Mint Macaron, a member of the subtle family, and a green which just may have begun my love affair with green! This card featuring a sunflower was actually my second attempt at sharing Mint Macaron, but it became my favourite of the two, so has become the headline act.
It's great to find an opportunity to use strips, we all have them if we create with card, ink and paper. I may have needed to cut some extra ones for this project though. Have you spied the large Sunflower stamped on the inside?
Apart from Just Jade strips over Mint Macaron base, I've used stamps and dies from Celebrate Sunflowers to make the card.
I really dipped into my scraps to make this card, using all shades of green and greeny-blue here. With the sunflower card, the strips are glued direct to the card front, with Happy hello they're raised on dimensionals.
A couple of diecut leaves, and a butterfly supplied enough decoration.
The Sunny Sentiment was stamped, and a few gems added and we can call it done.
If you'd like to see a full list of participants, you can check that out at Christine's blog too.

Two very different, beautiful, cards Rachel. They both showcase Mint Macaron beautifully ... and I agree, it's a favourite green! Your use of card strips for your backgrounds is really striking, providing a lovely visual interest without overwhelming the focal images. Really lovely cards.
ReplyDeleteOh, Rachel, I love those strips across the card and that they are all different sizes. It gives a lovely frame to your sunflower (almost reminds me of blinds). The colours on your second card are fantastic and that beautiful white butterfly is a great addition.
ReplyDeleteLove how you have used the card stock strips in your cards Rachel and it provides a striking background to your sunflower and the greenery in the second card. The shades of green with white in your second card gives a fresh look.
ReplyDeletelove, love, love a card or a quilt made from scraps and strips and both your cards are just fabulous, Rachel. Those greens all look amazing together.
ReplyDeleteTwo really lovely cards, Rachel. The colour combination is crisp and soft at the same time. I love them both.
