Colour Creations Merry Merlot

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. Each week we share projects made with a selected colour from the Stampin' Up! range. For week 27 we are sharing Merry Merlot, a lovely colour reminiscent of the wine whose name it carries.

I've teamed a little Merry Merlot with Gray Granite and Soft Succulent for a soothing colour palette.

Masks and blending brushes are fun to play with and the effects often drive the direction of the card, I find. After experimenting with the tree trunks from the Basic Masks, leaves seemed to be the logical next step. Forever Fern is such a favourite, so I reached for it again.

Stamping, and stamping a second time without reinking gives a delightful variation of colour.

Next talented team member to share is the lovely Christine Blain

  2. Lovely card, Rachel, I love how you used that decorative mask in the background. The stamping off adds wonderful depth of colour to your stamped images and the white embossed panel, highlights the sentiment perfectly.

  4. So love your card Rachel. Also love your thought process. I haven’t used that particular mask but it comes up so well and you are right seeing the tree trunks does turn the mind to leaves - brilliant. Love your stamping/stamping off of Merry Merlot together with the embossed sentiment on MM card-stock. Your colour combo is delightful. Everything works together so well. Xxx
