Last Minute Christmas Cards

It might be useful if I share a very quick, easy way to get some last minute Christmas cards made. You need 4 card bases and a 6 inch square piece of DSP. I also usually cut 2 or 3 sheets at one time to save time.

There are no actual measurements needed for this card recipe, beyond the 6" by 6" piece of paper. It is placed into your paper trimmer so opposing sides are being cut a little in from each diagonal corner. Just copy the picture above, say 5cm, but it doesn't actually matter if you are precise or not.

This is the result, and you can then use the 90 degree corner to line up with the top and side of the card.

However, it is possible to add another layer by cutting a square 6½" square. Place the cut DSP in position with straight edges right to the edge. It doesn't quite line-up so you can cut straight through, but can be done in steps, then tidied up after they are separate.

Here I have used Poinsettia Place DSP, and did mount each one onto card. The poinsetties were fussy-cut from DSP, and the gold laser cut leaves add a lovely touch of luxury.

Dove Of Hope was my chosen stamp set, the greeting fit the space at the bottom rather nicely. A verse from the same stamp set was stamped inside.

Using cream or white card means there is no need to add another layer inside for writing. I hope this might provide some inspiration to get some handmade cards in the mail for loved ones this last week before Christmas, everyone loves something pretty in the mail!
