Stampin' Up!® Retired List

Just letting you know that Stampin' Up!® have released their Retired List, as we await the release of a NEW Catalogue on June 2nd.

To see the retiring stamps you just need to click on the highlighted words or to go straight over to retired accessories click on those. The online stores have been VERY busy because everyone in the know, demonstrators included, jump straight onto these retiring and reduced items. Some aren't reduced in price, possibly indicating lower numbers at the warehouse, and other items are up to 50% off - it is certainly well worth taking a look.

Just a couple of the retiring stamp sets.

There's only just over 5 weeks left to order from the current annual catalogue and Occasions Catalogue. Not sure yet which items from the Occasions Catalogue will be included in the next annual catalogue.

Little Buddy Birthday has been retired, and reduced in price. The clear mount is $21.71 and the wood mount costs $28.46.

Postage Due is another stamp set I'll be sad to see retire. I love using the collage-style image, especially with other stamps. The clear mount one is $25.46 but the wood mount is only another $3 more.

I didn't think that Itty Bitty Banners would be on the retiring list, but since the banner Framelits haven't retired, I suspect we will get something new to use with the Framelits. Regarding Dahlias was another surprise retiree, it's such a dramatic, but simple large bloom.

Floral Bicycle Thanks - SSC99

I totally took inspiration from the stimulus provided by Sunday Stamps, picked up my favourite bicycle stamp, Postage Due, and partially inked it up, to stamp the half I wanted to use.

Then Painted Petals helped out with frothy floral images and some lovely leaves, to make this Thank You card. It was quick and easy, looks pretty much how I imagined it would, and soon I'll be able to pen the little message to my friend and it will happily leave my hands for hers.

On Your Bike CTD332

It's so hard to explain why I've taken so long to ink up Postage Due, but maybe I do really have too many stamp sets!!! No, never!!!

Anyway, now that this stamp has seen ink, it's really getting a bit of a workout. This is the second card I've made with it, and there's a third on the way too. Love those postage stamp images and luckily we still sell the Postage Stamp punch, which finishes them off so authentically. I coloured the long stamp from Butterfly Basics to look a bit like the aerogrammes my grandmother used to write home, while she cruised around the world in the 1960's. She must have missed her family even though she loved travel, because these aerograms came very regularly.

The colours suit the challenge at Color Throwdown although my Cherry Cobbler seems a bit darker than the red in the picture. I used Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Night Of Navy too.

Overdue Postage! CMCC#61

Yesterday I was challenged to use a stamp that I just HAD to have, but haven't used yet, with my most disliked colour. Tangelo Twist, one of the current in-colors, is the shade that appeals to me the least. Funny co-incidence, it is one of the challenge colours at Colour Me...! this week too.

In fact, I have difficulty using most of those colours in the orange family, even the corals. So there is only a hint of the Tangelo Twist. Teamed with Crumb Cake and Natural White card stock it becomes a necessary accent along with the cork accents (treasures from last SALE-A-BRATION,discovered while I was hunting for wooden accents)which add to the 'earthy' feel. This card pleases me, despite featuring my least favourite hue.

Now for the Postage Due stamp. I bought it to use with my scrapbooking of a trip to Paris which took place 18 months ago. Unfortunately, I haven't caught up with my travel scrapbooking, and it remained on the shelf unmounted. I had transferred it from the oyster pack it came in, to the new type of case, but last night is when the rubber finally made it onto the blocks.

At least when I inked it up, I was inspired to make a second card in colours I prefer and I may share that one soon.
