AWH CASE-ing The Annual Catty

Tonight the Art With Heart team are sharing creative projects CASE-ing the new annual catalogue. Stampin' Up!® catalogues are full of great art work provided by professional designers but it is perfectly okay to CASE (copy and selectively edit) these creations and make them your own. If you would like a copy of the new 2018 - 2019 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

You'll find the card (pictured below) on page 16 of the Annual Catalogue, and I've already seen it CASE-d a few times. I decided to take a long look at it, and then without referring back to the picture, try to make my version from memory. I did make a decision to use the leaves from Rooted In Nature, because I love them so much!

Highland Heather was selected for the base. Leaves from Rooted in Nature were stamped and die cut, and with a flower bud from Oh So Eclectic, were added to the card. A stamp from Sunshine Sayings was perfect for adding silver heat embossed smears, and champagne foil diecut with another die from Oh So Eclectic. The Basic Gray cat seemed to suit this changed colour scheme pretty well, so it has been slotted in there and a thank you from Petal Palette topped it all off.

This type of card does not really come naturally to me, so I'm grateful for the inspiration provided by the artists who create for the catalogue.

Now to share how CASE-ing can then produce an entirely different card, I made another which is more my 'usual' style - clean & layered. This inspiration struck on a sleepless night, and I got up and made it at 2 a.m. - fortunately at the weekend!!!!

Stitched All Around is on the very next page of the catalogue, Page 17 and amongst the dies is a plate that produces the delightful cross-stitch-like background, which allows a hint of colour through. The leaves were stamped, with one die cut and lifted with dimensionals. I totally meant to include the spotted ribbon, because I just love it so, but being 2 a.m. I wasn't going to get it completely right!!!

There's a larger bloom from Oh So Eclectic, the 'thank you' from Petal Palette and both those pieces were cut using Petals & More Thinlit dies.
Now it's time to see the project that the very talented Andrea Roberts has CASEd.

Eclectic Blues CI #20

Colour INKspiration is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from the South Pacific, all through Australia and New Zealand. We love to get together for these colour challenges, to inspire each other, and you, to create. We love it when you join in with our challenges to share your work and all you need is a Facebook presence. You can link in here on Facebook.
Image may contain: plant, flower, outdoor and nature
What a beautiful inspiration picture! The colours are so 'country' - looks great! We have Calypso Coral, Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke, if you'd like to join in and use the challenge colours to enter. Our guest designer this week is Fi Cobbin, She was two stops ago, have you seen her project yet? Don't worry, keep on clicking the links at the end and you will make your way back to the starting point.

I added Post Script, a large background stamp to the Dapper Denim layer, before cutting with the Oh So Eclectic die and adding Champagne Foil behind. The Oh so Eclectic flowers are beautiful too, and they've been stamped and die cut.

Birthday Blossoms was perfect for the sentiment, and another complimentary sentiment has been stamped inside the card too.

The sketch at The Paper Players came in very handy for me this week. Sometimes it's just a little hard to decide how you want your project to look. Update: Just a tad excited for this card to be picked by Paper Players as a winner!!!!

I was last on the Colour INKspiration Bloghop this time, but if you started with me, you can continue to my lovely friend Elizabeth from Lillylovespaper.

Eclectic Birthday

Oh So Eclectic is an interesting mix of stamps, and if you invest in the bundle and get dies to co-ordinate, you'll find you've not only saved 10% on the cost of those two items, but you'll have some dies to cut and others to emboss. You can check out the clear mount bundle here and the wood mount version here.

A dear friend of mine turned 70 in August, and I didn't know whether she would want her age plastered on the front of the card. Turns out, it wouldn't have bothered her in the least, because you're only as old as you feel and she feels GREAT!
I was just trying out these pretty flowers in different ways. I really like the way they stamp a little darker around the centre and outside.

When stamping the inside, the flowers have had some line detail added too, and the detail was stamped directly in the centre. Birthday Blooms provided the lovely sentiment, I use it a lot!

My bunch of flowers are sitting in a vellum jar, from Jars of Love. Again, another favourite stamp set which has co-ordinating dies, and they can also be used with the Ronald McDonald fund-raising stamp which you will find inside the back cover of the Annual catalogue.

If you need some supplies, you will find my online shop open 24/7. Only use the host code for orders under $250, as above that amount you will get 10% in host dollars yourself, applied at the end of the ordering process. When you place your orders using the Host Code, I will post you a small gift.
