Modern Garden Birthday

The challenge I set myself was to see how many cards I could make with the eight different patterns of Garden Walk DSP. The answer is...a lot! I wrote a PDF featuring 12 different cards for my November class. Let me tell you though, use those scraps and you can make more than that. Each class attendee received the 8 sheets of DSP, the PDF and we made 3 cards together. The rest are 'homework' to cover December & January when we don't have classes.

These are a couple made with the Wild Wheat and Garden Green papers and the birthday greetings in the Modern Garden stamp set. There are no dies with this stamp set, but those flowers are easy to fussy cut.

For colour matches, refer to the back of your packet of DSP, they are all listed there under the title. I've used Poppy Parade, one of the brightest reds in our range.

Keep on crafting,

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 31 - Lost Lagoon

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person.

This week our projects showcase Lost Lagoon, which isn't actually as green as it seems in the sample above. Lost Lagoon might just be my favourite returning colour, it goes so well with many other shades. I've used it with Garden Walk 6" X 6" DSP and it was included as a card in my November classes. All the classes enjoyed making this card and saw it as a way to be able to use up more of their pretty patterned paper. I had seen Emma Goddard demonstrate this fold several months ago, using Zoo Crew.

The background of these two sheets of Garden Walk seems to be a lighter shade of Lost Lagoon, and there are small flowers in that shade while the leaves are Pretty Peacock.

There are no dies with Modern Garden so the flowers were fussy cut and I used a die from Timeless Charm for those lacy leaves.

Next we are heading to the blog of my lovely friend Catherine Proctor. I'm sure you'll love her project.

If at any time you find a broken link or would like to see a full list of participants, please head to the blog of our host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Catherine Proctor.

Happy crafting,

More Modern Garden Christmas

Another Christmas card for my stash using the Garden Walk DSP. You can make a few of these by cutting the centre panel 8cm X 12cm and mounting it on Poppy Parade card stock .5cm larger.

On Wednesday I shared the Garden Green card for a Colour Creations blog hop featuring that shade of green and tonight here is its buddy in Pretty Peacock.

The sentiment is included in Modern Garden stamp, but I also used the frame stamp & punch from Heartfelt Hexagon, an online exclusive at the moment which is to be released in the next mini catalogue (January 2024).

Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle

Although Modern Garden is bundled with a punch, I chose not to purchase that one and use the Heartfelt Hexagon punch in its place.

Colour Creations - Week 23 - Flirty Flamingo

Flirty Flamingo isn't actually listed on the colours in Garden Walk DSP but Calypso Coral is. The Garden Walk DSP still seems to goes well with the Flirty Flamingo card. I really do like this pack of papers, such lovely colours, plus one for Christmas too.

This style of card was demonstrated by
suestampfield on Facebook recently, also using Garden Walk DSP but I haven't bothered with her measurements, just the construction so my card does not look so much like hers.

The card is made by cutting a base measuring 10.5cm by 14.5cm and then add another piece 21cm by whatever you choose in width. Score at 10.5cm and glue the back of this piece to the other base, in the position you choose.

The designer series paper, Garden Walk was cut to size allowing for mounting on Basic White card mats. A single flower from Modern Garden was stamped inside.

I couldn't resist using Heartfelt Hexagons and the matching punch on this card. They are going to be one of the featured stamps this Saturday in the free Stampin' Up! event for everyone interested in card making. Have you registered or will you just tune in?

Next team member this week is the wonderful Christine Blain. You are heading over to see some more Heartfelt Hexagon inspiration.

CTC #437 CASE O Holy Night Suite pages 14-17

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

I've been busy with classes this week and then family stuff on the weekend so I've CASEd the simplest card from the O HOLY NIGHT suite.

I was inspired to use some off cuts from GARDEN WALK DSP to create a similar card with ribbon and a central label. You can see the GARDEN WALK suite on pages 52-53 of the mini, and for this card I used the sentiments from MODERN GARDEN photopolymer stamps.

My strips of DSP were left over from other projects and are narrower, so I ended up using a few more on my project. There are a lovely variety of colours and prints in this 6" by 6" paper from the mini catalogue, GARDEN WALK. I'm sure you have similar pieces left after your craft-making sessions too.

An alternative label stamped and punched using HEARTFELT HEXAGON stamp & punch bundle.

You may feel that you haven't seen this stamp before and you would be correct. HEARTFELT HEXAGON is a stamp & punch bundle coming in January 2024 and you are getting an extra-early preview because if you are joining the FREE Stampin' Up! World Card Making Day, you can order this bundle now and make a card on the day, using your own supplies.

Click on the picture and sign up to World Card Making Day.

We love for you to share your projects using the challenges. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE letting us know which card or project you've CASE-d.

Now hop on over to see Monique's version of the same card!

Your orders are very much appreciated, no matter how small or big, every little bit helps me to meet my minimums, and keep on creating. Hopefully you are inspired by some of the projects I share and want to make your own. My online shop is open anytime and delivery by tracked Australia Post takes 5-10 days.
