Joy Fold Class

We had a very lively workshop last Friday night despite some last-minute cancellations, or perhaps because the numbers were down, the girls really let loose! I had pre-cut Sahara Sand card for all the attendees, so they all started with this card. One made it as a wedding card, using Bermuda Bay as the accent colour, and two changed it to a birthday card with Big News providing a big sentiment.

Annette also made a second Joy-Fold card using Adventure Bound DSP Paper Stack as her starting point. The dies for Something For Baby provided the soccer top (shhh... don't tell Haris). She has made a birthday card for her soccer playing son.

Genella also had certain people in mind as she put together her three cards. We especially loved her fish card, using By The Tide and Adventure Bound DSP. Unfortunately, it is slightly out of focus at the back of the photo.
Apothecary Art, retiring June 2nd, has made a final appearance here, looking gorgeous in shades echoing the colours of the DSP.

You might notice the theme of Prue's cards was happiness in one form or another!
She was needing a wedding card immediately, hopefully the recipients realise the thoughtfulness of a handcrafted card, Bravo is where the middle sentiment comes from, and of course the Hello You Thinlets has 'happy' and yes, that set is carrying over for another 12 months.

Next month's class is pencilled in for Friday June 19th and we will be using a new stamp set, Sprinkles of Life, Tree Builder Punch and doing some heat embossing. Already two of my regulars have indicated that the date might not suit them, so if you think coming to a class in South Morang, Victoria might interest you, contact me to find out more. It is Friday night at 7pm, although I'd love to start daytime classes on a Thursday or Friday, if two or more people were interested. There's no obligation to purchase supplies from me, the $20 fee covers the class and everything you use. You're more than welcome to collect a catalogue to study at your leisure of course, and anyone in Australia can purchase from my online shop.

Have a great week
Cheers

For The New Two CMCC#70

Today I made a joy fold card, a sample for my May class. Crisp Cantaloupe is a gentle shade, so pretty with the Something Borrowed DSP, it really gives it a 'lift'.The paper has a number of co-ordinating patterns which makes it easy to mix and match.
For The New Two was introduced in the Occasions Catalogue which finishes on June 2nd, but I'm pleased to see that it has been included in the next annual catalogue. There are three different pairs of stamps for weddings in this stamp set and a few weeks ago, I made this baby card using it for new twins. Last night my son's godmother let me know her daughter is having twins in November too, so no doubt I will make another card. Colour Me! provided the colour inspiration this time, it's worthwhile to check out the gallery there.

These are fun cards, although it doesn't leave a heap of room to write a message. I've made a few other ones for the class, a half joy fold and a bright birthday one. My class on the 22/05/2015 has one space left, or you could call me to arrange another time for you and a friend to make this card. If you can't make a class, but order the stamp set through my online shop, I will post you the pieces and instructions to put the card together at home.

Cheers,
Rachel

I'm very excited to be picked as a 'Color Connoisseur"  for this card on Colour Me..!

The New Two FMS #183

Last week, one of my team became grandmother to twins.  It's such exciting news, for even though these bubs are six weeks early, they are healthy and isn't that all we really want? I'm sure everyone is thrilled to have a boy and a girl, so sweet.

I was trying to remember where I'd seen a stamp referring to two, and finally I realised that it's a wedding stamp called For The New Two in the Occasions Catalogue. I decided there was no reason not to use it, and paired with Bundled Baby, it is perfect! Bundled Baby is on the retirement list and you can get it at a big discount, while stocks last.

Although the sentiment, tickled pink, is no doubt intended just for a wee girl, it seemed to fit so nicely with the other sentiment. Then I simply stamped two bundled babies, before shading their blankets Pink Pirouette and Pool Party. I'm lucky enough to have held onto my Blush Blossom Stampin' Write Marker when it retired, because it is so perfect for skin tones. The Blender Pen came in handy too, and Shimmery White card is just that touch more glam.

The sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week helped the design
process for me. I've kept it fairly simple with the two strips of DSP in matching colours but the large greeting has caused my top layer to be wider than the sketch.

Cheers,
Rachel
