CTC#158 CASE A Project From a Page That Is Your Age!

No automatic alt text available.

I've CASE-d the Melon Mambo light globe card. There's background stamping, skewed layers, a simple stamped image and individual words for the sentiment. Instead of twine I've wriggled some ribbon under the layers.

This stamp is in the upcoming SALE-A-Bration catalogue - let me know if you'd like a new Occasions Catalogue and I'll include the SALE-A-Bration catalogue too. Lots Of Lavender is its name, and I love it coloured with Stampin' Blends as I've done here. It also comes with a stamp to colour it, and the leaves, stems etc.

FUNdamentals Class
There will be a class featuring this stamp in my South Morang Studio on Thursday, February 1st: 10 a.m or 7pm, if you want to learn or refresh the basics of stamping. One card/one hour/$10, or make a second card for just $15. Feel free to email me rpalmieri5@bigpond.com if you'd like to know more, or put your name down.

This free shipping is only for Monday 11 December, so get your order ready. Free shipping will save you a few dollars, so go check the Clearance Rack, or get thiose pretty embellishments to finish off your Christmas projects.

Now you should head over to see the talented Mel Pagano

AWH Team Blog Hop Holiday Catalogue

Tonight some of the Art With Heart Stampin' Up!® Team are sharing some fun and fabulous ideas from our Holiday Catalogue, to inspire you. The Holiday Catalogue is available now, to order from 1st September 2017 until 2nd January 2018. Be sure to request your copy of the Holiday Catalogue now.

I arrived home from holidays to find a small box of pre-order goodies here waiting for me. Quickly I sorted the dirty washing before unpacking the box to check out what I would make for this Blog Hop. I had ordered a number of Christmas stamps, but this one - Every Good Wish was a winner for me.

It is such a simple stamp set, with 6 stamps, including two very useable verses for the inside. The sentiment is the feature of this stamp, and you can't really go wrong with it. It doesn't have to be perfectly straight, and if you smudge it, just cover up with some more splatters (stamp included!).
If you are just starting your stamping journey, or even if you have a heap of Christmas cards to make, this would be perfect. Everything you need is listed at the end of the article.

One of the large sentiment stamps, inked with Lemon-Lime Twist has been stamped in the centre of the notecard. The holly stamp was inked with the marker in two colours, and some more splatters were added. If I was making a number of these, I would fold all the cards, then stamp all the sentiments, before going back to add the holly.

Tranquil Tide was my choice of ink for this sentiment, but it would look good in any colour you choose. I don't think it would have to be a 'Christmas' colour either.

Intentionally, I've kept the supplies to a minimum here, to illustrate that crafting doesn't have to break the bank. You may already have the stamp pads or markers, which will reduce the cost even more.

  • Every Good Wish Page 8 Holiday Catalogue #144865 Clear mount     $31.00
  • Old Olive & Real Red Stampin' Write Markers Page 21 #145059         $12.25
  • Lemon-Lime Twist stamp pad P184 Annual Catalogue #144086          $11.50
  • Tranquil Tide stamp pad P184 Annual Catalogue #144085                   $11.50
  • 20 Notecards & envelopes P195 Annual catalogue #131527                 $10.50
At this stage you don't need a cutting tool, adhesive or card. The notecards are already scored and come with envelopes. I hope you find this information useful.

Now it is time to hop on over to see what the very lovely and talented Kate Morgan has made.

Beginners Basic Stamping or Basics To Brilliance Part One

Have you wanted to try stamping or are you more advanced after a few years of experience? There is a process called 'Step-it-up' where each card is a little more advanced than the one before but my good friend and stamping buddy came up with a catchy phrase the other night - "Basics to Brilliance". Loved it, and decided to roll with that for an extra post or two this week.

Tonight we will address the basics.
Beautiful Bouquet is a photopolymer stamp set on page 92 of the catalogue, and if you have a Big Shot you are able to utilise Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies to cut some of these pieces out. If purchased at the same time using the bundled code, they cost you 10% less, and during July, for every $90 spent you earn a voucher for $9 to be spent in August. It will be applied automatically to your order and the vouchers are emailed to you. Keep the code and add them to your August order.
The Host code for orders is 3DZBVQXR and you'll find this bundle here in my shop. The items are also available individually.

Going, Going, Gone - Get retiring projects

Some of the benefits of photopolymer (for beginners especially) is they are see through and you can see where you are placing flowers, sentiments etc. They also retail slightly less than red rubber. This set contains 37 stamps, including some of the nicest sentiments I have ever seen. Birthdays, congratulations, friendship and marriage are the main occasions they address.

For the basic card, I have used half a sheet of thick Whisper White, folded in half and two shades of ink. My choice was Berry Burst and Old Olive. I will confess - when I stamped the group of stems, I moved the stamp and ended up with a second, fainter impression of stems. You just move on, no one would ever question your intentions. Maybe you were after more stems, or a shadow. In my classes I teach ways to overcome these tiny issues which cause crafters anxious moments.I also smudged ink near the wrap that goes around the stem, and I've covered that up with a Glitter Enamel Dot, before adding two more randomly to balance the composition.

It's easy to stamp the individual flower heads at the end of the stems, so a great card for a beginner, or a quick and easy card for the more experienced crafter in a hurry. If you are close enough to me in South Morang, Victoria and would like a basic class, I'm happy to assist you to make one card for $10, two for $15 and it should take an hour or less. School holidays is great for me as I'm away from my usual Integration Aide role. You might even just like to try out this design to start yourself off. Tomorrow, I will share a stepped up version.

Keep on crafting,
Rachel

P.S. A special 'extra' for you if you sign up to be a demonstrator during July 2017. Read below for more details, feel free to ask me more.
