AWH Colour Creations #40 Powder Pink

But now for the business at hand - a colour challenge!

This blog was initiated by Catherine Proctor, a valued member of our Stampin' Up! family, as a way to share the colours in the range, both the old ones and new. Powder Pink is a lovely soft shade. I was demonstrating the effect you get when you ink up an embossing folder - using the narrow Petal Pair TIE folder on a strip of Whisper White. As you can see, especially in this soft pink, it is feminine, lacy & lovely. Then I needed to dream up a beautiful way to use these strips of embossed card and came up with this card.

Most of the supplies for this card are in the Annual catalogue, except for the  Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper which is currently in the Clearance Rack at the bargain price of $10.40 for 24 - 6" X 6" squares.

The stitched oval is perfect for this simple flower from Love What You Do. Beautiful You supplied the sentiment which has been stamped in Powder Pink and then Black on a piece from the Stitched Labels Framelits. Have you noticed that there is stitching on everything now?

Spring Bike Ride

A few days off work gave me time to put together a card for this challenge at The Paper Players, Clean & Simple: sports.

Bike Ride has always been a favourite of mine, but now that I use the Stamparatus, I find it even more fun to put these bicycles together.  There are layered labels behind the bike, a Stitched Shape Oval in white, and the large, lacy one from Stitched Labels, as is the one with the sentiment.

That sentiment, 'Happy birthday, gorgeous' is from Beautiful You.

Birthday CTC#186

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand.You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project.

Birthdays are the theme for this week, and I spied a card on page 70 to CASE. It's the Blueberry Bushel card on the far right. Let's change up the colours, change up the stamp set and see what happens!

Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green are my colour choices and the stamp set is Abstract Impressions. I took a little creative liscence and edited out the word 'love'  from the sentiment, substituting 'celebrate' from Beautiful You.

Like the sketch, embossing paste has been used on the card base, a strip of contrasting card placed under the art piece, some ribbon tied around. As they say in Thailand "Same, same, but different".

Dancing On

A dear friend wanted a card made and began telling me a story about a loved daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She loved music and dancing, and my friend wanted to know whether I could make something with Beautiful You.

As she spoke I envisioned this card and could hardly wait to take up ink and stamps to see if it would come together, as I imagined. The dancing girl was stamped first and then masked before I randomly inked up Sheet Music and stamped diagonally across.

 Once the images had dried I set to work with Stampin' Blends in shades of blue, beige and grey. It seemed to meet my friend's expectations, and I really think these commission pieces are much easier to work on when you hear a little about the person.

It inspired me to continue on and make my spare image into a card there and then (instead of cooking dinner!) and you can see that one here.

Dance FMS#322

Beautiful You was on my desk after I had finished making a card for a customer order. I usually stamp two of the image anyway, and thought it suited this card sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. Often a sketch is just what you need to start the creative juices flowing.

 There is a lot you can do with a sketch like this, with its wide border. No dimensions are stipulated, so that pretty much gives you the freedom to change it around any way you like. It's great that Quilt Top TIEF carried over at the end of the holiday catalogue, I wish the whole Quilted Christmas suite did. Blends were used to colour the dancing girl and Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray seemed like a natural colour scheme.

 After masking the girl, Sheet Music background stamp was randomly inked and stamped off, to give a hint of music behind the dancing girl. They seem to fit together like a hand into a glove!

Pretty In Pink CI#18

Oh my, look at all this pink!!! I wasn't sure where to go with this colour scheme, so I decided to begin with a scooter and a mass of flowers, like the picture. Mediterranean Moments for the first and Wood Words for the second. Not very original, but it started the creativity flowing until I had made a lovely trio in pink.

The stamp sets common to all the cards are Mediterranean Moments and Wood Words. This one with the scooter has a birthday greeting from Special Celebrations.

For the other two cards Beautiful You has made an appearance too. Some of the images are watercoloured, some have been coloured with a Stampin' Write marker, and the dress above has been stamped to colour.

The first one might still be my favourite from this group. Which one do you like best?
