South Pacific Stampin' Up!® Convention 2015 - Awards Night Party

Friday had been a very stormy day, with a huge downpour in the late afternoon. I had been lucky enough to get back to the hotel relatively dry, despite having my umbrella blown inside out. For a while, my enthusiasm for going out was dampened too, but with some text messages exchanged, we decided on a taxi to the Convention Centre, even though it was only about 5oo metres. Luckily, the taxi drivers were quite agreeable, so for a few dollars we arrived safe and dry.

During the day they announce various other sales achievements etc, so it ends up being just our top recruiters, sellers who are onstage Friday night. That keeps the serious part of the evening brief, and then it is time to let our hair down and party. The room looked gorgeous, some tables and chairs with floral arrangements and a photo booth for crazy photos, which is always madly popular.

The group playing was Absolutely 80's with Brian Mannix (Uncanny Xmen),  Scott Carne (Kids in The Kitchen) and Paul Gray (Wa Wa Nee). Everyone had a great time dancing to those songs from our youth.

We took a lot of photos of our various teams on Friday night. I've shared one with the CASE-ing The Catty Crew in my post earlier tonight for the CASE-ing The Catty Blog Hop. At right are members of my immediate team, Think Ink with team leader Sue Madex(Melbourne) on the left, me, Sara Douglass who is Acting CEO of Stampin' Up!®, Tina Gillespie (Adelaide) and Karen Harper (Melbourne, Australia and Seattle, USA).
These friendships with others who share your interests are the best things about going to Convention and in between, we 'talk' on Facebook forums.
This leaves just one more day,
Cheers for now,
Rachel
