Birthday Giveaway

This post has been pre-written because today is my birthday and I am out celebrating! Even though I'm busy, the online shop is open for business. Until Wednesday 3rd December, if you place an order online and use the hostess code, MYJAE96T you are in the draw to get stamps sets and other products from me. There is a spot as you finalise your order to enter this code.

However, if your order is more than $300, you have two great options.

  1. Continue..... and choose $50 worth of exclusive Hostess stamp sets or catalogue goodies, to be shipped direct to you with your order.
  2. Consider becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator while the recruitment deal is so sweet! Strictly until December 2nd. Buy $235 in your starter kit, then put in an order in December.

There's a 25% discount off the Starter Kit!

Stampin' Up are offering a ONE WEEK ONLY joining deal, beginning 25th November through to 2nd December.

  • Get the starter kit for 25% off. That equates to $235 worth of products of your choice for $126.75, post free.
  • If you make your next order during December, you will have an EXTRA 5% discount paid back into your bank account in January. This means you'll get between 25%-35% discount, (you might need me to explain how that works).
  • You will get to see (and order) from the NEW Occasions catalogue on December 6th, a whole month before the customers do.
  • I have a small, friendly team and you'd be more than welcome to join us

This is a great offer, and let me assure you, there are no catches. Your financial commitment long-term equates to approximately $35 per week. I have been a Demonstrator for nearly four years now, and Stampin' Up are a great company to work with. Whether you see this as a way  to buy at a discount for your own crafting needs, a part-time job or even a full-time position, everyone is welcome, You can read through the contract here and email if you have any questions or concerns.

Cheers,
Rachel

Fabulous, Celebrate! PP223

I had no intention to use Leanne's sketch again so soon, but I will be filing it away for the future, for sure.
It seemed only fair to make a feminine version too, and my mind is already thinking about another one - for a young boy. That is definitely an indication of a great sketch! You can check other interpretations at The Paper Players.

Melon Mambo and Perfect Plum were the colours this time around, and Gorgeous Grunge had another use along with Work of Art and Starburst Sayings.

Love this Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder and it hasn't been used for a while. I tied a little bundle of ribbons (all retired, but current colours) and topped it off with a medium Vintage Faceted button.

Now, I really must go get some chores done!

Birthday Curry PP223

Yesterday I finished an order for Christmas cards, and my customer was rather partial to Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay, so those colours were on my table this morning when I began work on this birthday card for the Paper Players Challenge. I'm not sure if I might have preferred it with all the colours reversed, there is a LOT of curry here!
I've stamped with Gorgeous Grunge, And Many More(inside) and Blue Ribbon. I had my Crop-o-dile out to punch holes in multiple gift tags, so it was easy to punch a hole through multiple layers of card and paper to insert a brad to hold the banners.

Now if you're wanting to play along at The Paper Players Challenge, you'll need to get a wriggle on.......

Here's another snap of my birthday curry!

Have a great weekend!

Colourful Christmas Card CTS101

I've had a request from my lovely neighbour to make a bunch of Christmas cards and she selected some lovely, non-traditional colours for her cards! Crushed Curry was chosen for a couple of the designs. I wasn't too sure how they would look, but it rather suits our Australian summertime Christmas.
The sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch suits any of the wreaths (stamps, dies etc) which are around at the moment and I turned to Wondrous Wreath, as Sonya had requested that stamp set for a couple of her cards. The other has been made in the rather more traditional Pear Pizzazz and Real Red!
I tried a few different colour combinations in the wreath before reverting to two shades of green, another stamping in gold ink and red berries. the words from Wonderful Wreath Framelits seem a little stronger when cut in one of the Glitter papers and I added a red banner for 'Joy' to rest on.
I have a busy day ahead so this will be one of my briefer posts!
Cheers
Rachel

Lavender and Lace SSC89

What a strange coincidence that Sunday Stamps have a Color Challenge for Plum and Lavender, when I have a special order to make a 90th birthday card in mauve. It was a pleasure to pull out the long-neglected Apothecary Art stamp set and try colouring with Blendabilities

It is quite a different technique using Blendabilities compared to using Stampin' Write Markers. I found it difficult to work as delicately, but overall, I was happy with the result. I  will enter it for the challenge at SUO Challenges too. I was sure I had a movie in my DVD collection, called "Lavender and Lace", but I had a quick look on my shelf and it is actually "Ladies In Lavender" starring the wonderful actresses Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. So, I suppose, it was the mistaken memory which caused me to choose the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder to go along with the Wisteria Wonder. I love shades of purple too, as well as the fragrance of lavender.

I tried a couple of ways to include the numerals, and decided that this solution was the tidiest. I stamped the sentiment, Happiest Birthday, which is also in Apothecary Art, and cut the two words apart.

The numerals have been stamped, fussy cut and adhered to disguise where the sentiment was cut apart. I don't suppose you can see that I have stamped on Shimmery White rather than Whisper White. It is a sturdier card and has a delightful shimmer to it. Do you know, I believe that Apothecary Art and the matching Framelits were the first ever items in my Stampin' Up! collection that matched! Now everything I have matches. It was a pleasure to work on this special order, I hope the recipient enjoys the good wishes the card brings to her also.

Are you enjoying a pleasant weekend, or did you have to work?

Cheers,
Rachel

Very happy to be picked in the Top 3 at SUO challenges.
