Colour Creations Blog Hop - Poppy Parade

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. This is week 37 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and as we use the colours alphabetically, we are up to Poppy Parade.

I love a stamp and punch bundle. They are so easy to use, and so often rather cute images, like Hello Ladybug and the Ladybug Builder Punch.

I was away at my Holiday house with my older ink pads, and obviously Poppy Parade needed re-inking. In the end, I decided that the inked wings looked distressed - just like the DSP from Hey Sports Fan.

The gridlines, firstly inspired by the sudoku my husband enjoys playing, were drawn with a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker. They look like a Tic Tac Toe grid, and look - there's three in a row! A win to the ladybugs!!!

Now it's time to hop on over to wonderfully talented Andrea

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, CathyProctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

Week 10 Colour Creations Showcase - Cinnamon Cider

Cinnamon Cider is a new In Color so it will be available until the middle of 2022. It is a lovely warm shade which is perfect for masculine or feminine cards. Members of the Art With Heart team have all shared projects using this colour for your inspiration.

Positive Thoughts was my choice of stamp this week, and I've used a rock n roll technique to colour the stamps. You can google to find instructions on how to do this, but the short description is to stamp your solid image all over in the lighter ink, before rolling the edges of the stamp around a deeper colour to define the image. On this sample I have used a sponge dauber to soften and blur the edges.

The thoughtful sentiments are written in a beautiful script.

The Colour Creations Showcase is organised by Catherine Proctor, so if you pop back to her blog, you can click on the next name on the list. Don't forget you can use your Bonus Days Coupons on your Stampin' Up! orders this month.

Butterflies In This World CTD#470

Today I needed some time out and chose to get into my craft room and create. An old favourite came off the shelf and paired with an old favourite masking/sponging technique and a new colour combo from Color Throwdown Challenge, I've spent some happy time.

We used In This World for a retiform card recently and a friend of mine, Carolina Evans, also used it for her Onstage Swap in Melbourne. This stamp set has some interesting images, so I plan to get some more use from it, just in case it retires.

I was glad I remembered to attach a strip of this Sizzix Multipurpose Adhesive strips to the card before I cut 'lovely' with the Lovely Word Thinlets. It sure does make it a lot easier to adhere to your project.

The stamped sentiment is from Dragonfly Dreams, and as it is photopolymer, it could have been curved more to match the die cut 'lovely'. Sometimes these ideas come after you've put ink to paper!!!

Frog Tape, a low adhesive painter's tape, is what I use for masking. Before I stick it to the project, I also remove some more of the 'stick' by applying it to my clothes. It is very effective and doesn't usually lift any paper.

This verse inside is part of a kind of funny/witty set of stamps, Five For All. I could have added the second part "Just Like Me", but haven't on this occasion. When the sentiment is on two separate stamps, it gives more options for mixing and matching. I have a large number of birthdays through December and January, so I hope to get back in here for some more crafting soon.

What do you think you would make with this colour palette from Color Throwdown?

Remember that if you shop in my online shop on Monday 27th November, there will be NO SHIPPING CHARGE, for 24 hours only. But, as well as a gift in the mail from me for ordering and using the Host Code, I will send you a birthday card to send to someone else.
