CTC#386 CASE A Sketch

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. We're CASE-ing a sketch this week - what great inspiration!

My take on this sketch is a layer, somewhat smaller than the card base, a focal point to the lower right, with a sentiment over. It was easy to put together two variations to share with you this week.

The Fresh Cut Stem Dies arrived at my house on Thursday - I already had the stamp, so didn't take advantage of the 10% saving when buying as a bundle - but you can. The dies are only available in September, while stocks last. More information at the end of post.

For this card in Flirty Flamingo the pattern paper has been switched out for a texture embossed piece, and the smaller sprigs of flowers have been grounded on a white circle.

This card features the larger flowers, on a subtle stripe from Abigail Rose DSP. Blessings Of Home has this long sentiment with a die cut piece from the Fresh cut stems dies underneath.

Colour Creations - Calypso Coral

Our feature colour this week is Calypso Coral, in the subtles range but quite a strong coral shade. I'm sure there will be lots of inspiration shared on this blog hop, so make sure you spend the time checking them out. We are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart.

Calypso Coral has been in the range for all of the 10 plus years I've been a demonstrator, but I still have enough card from my very first pack, so I obviously don't use it too often.

Shaded Summer is a stamp set from the annual catalogue, with some pretty flowers and very thoughtful sentiments. I don't think you can see that the white panel is embossed with Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. The flowers were stamped in Pale Papaya before Calypso Coral was added with a sponge dauber.

Since the stamp set costs $40, that leaves you plenty to stock up on embossing folders, ribbon, ink or embellishments for your paper crafting.

It had been a couple of weeks since I last used the Basic Borders dies, and the design I had in mind lent itself to some sort of interesting edge. That left a curved piece to finish off the inside of the card, with another stamped flower as well.
