CTC#398 CASE the Annual Catty and Give a Christmas Twist

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

Breaking News was already out on the craft table to make a birthday card (or two) for my grandsons turning 13 each side of Christmas. Different families, different states, so should be okay to make similar cards -LOL!

I had already been thinking that it would make a great Christmas card, I could just picture it.

Luckily, the card came together exactly as I'd imagined.

A little stamping and a die cut poinsettia finished off the inside. The Boughs of Holly DSP is currently on sale in the Last Chance list at a bargain price $12.40 a pack.

You may have noticed CTC will no longer have a weekly winner, because in our eyes you are a winner for participating!
We would still love for you to share your projects and we request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE letting us know which card or project you've CASE-d.

Our next talented crew member is the lovely Julia Quinn.

CTC #390 CASE-ing Colours of Santa's Express

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too. You may have landed here from Tina Gillespie in South Australia, and now you are visiting the blog of Rachel Palmieri in Victoria.

This week we are CASE-ing the colours of the Santa's Express DSP, and with the huge range of greens and only two other colours, I was at a loss for quite a while. Evening Evergreen is the closest to black without being black which started me thinking of silhouettes.

A customer had also asked for more ideas for the Peace To You stamp set she'd purchased, so I began experimenting with the colours and blending brushes. The light across the church was a lovely surprise, but the card base was a little plain so I grabbed a stamp from Merriest Moments and randomly stamped. With a white gel pen I've added a three-dot pattern.

Now Merriest Moments is a Christmas bundle, a polar opposite to Peace To You! It has a stamp, dies and embossing folder that you can use with dies to cut and emboss at the same time! I had an embossed frame ready and began to play with foliage to introduce the Mint Macaron and Granny Apple Green. The ribbon was coloured with a Stampin Blend which dries ready to use quickly since its an alcohol marker.

This lovely Christmas stamp set can simply be stamped for a simple image and true Christmas message.

Sweet Little Stockings For JAI #582

This morning I was finishing off some Christmas cards, and I thought that I would seek a little inspiration. I have been making up some one-sheet-wonder cards , and they just needed "a little something" to lift them up.

The JAI #582 picture inspired me to use the stockings I have already die cut, and they can be fussy cut too from the Sweet Stockings DSP.

The scrolling font on the blackboard reminded me of the sentiments in Merriest Moments and although this stamp is retiring at the end of the mini catalogue (3 Jan) its such a classic with holly, mistletoe and poinsettia, I probably will hold onto mine.

These cards will be perfect for my friends with pets I think and just a heads-up, Sweet Little Stockings stamp and Stockings Dies are available at a BIG saving if purchased separately on December 1st.

I'm almost finished making cards now, are you? Then the massive task of writing them begins. Do you hand write a message in each?

Time To Shine CTC#344

T
he CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

This week we are CASE-ing an embossed project, and thea is dry, texture embossing or heat embossing. I chose a version of the card samples for Merriest Moments on page 43 of the Mini Catalogue, and removed Christmas from it.

The card I CASEd had an arrangement of holly at the bottom left corner, and I've strategically placed the Daisy to hide the holly on the embossed frame.

The large daisy is also hiding more holly on the frame, while providing a pop of colour.

We love having you join in our challenges. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE, and let us know which card or project you've CASE-d. No blog required, no special qualifications.

And now it's time to pop over to  see what  the very talented Judy May is sharing this week.
