Golden Wedding Anniversary

Recently my husband and I had the pleasure of attending a celebration for another couple's 50th wedding anniversary. We haven't known them quite that long, but I guess it might be close to 30 years.

For something as special as that I decided a special card was needed so I made a version of Susan Campfield's Million Dollar card - one she received from Stampin' Up! for her Million Dollar sales achievement. She simplified hers, and I may have done a bit more.

The special bits were the gold foil, gems and the pretty designer series paper which is now retired. Luckily, I still had enough in my stash to create the card!

Maybe the flap with the '50' and extra gold foil foliage is a bit special too.

I can remember being 16 and attending my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. It seemed like a really momentous occasion at that time. It is probably even more significant these days when so many don't survive the trials and tribulations of this type of relationship.

Colour Creations Blog Hop - Week 14 - Bubble Bath

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. Every Wednesday night at 8p.m AEST we feature a fabulous Stampin' Up! colour, in alphabetical order.

This week we are working with a soft pink called Bubble Bath.

CARD 1:
Country Flowers was my choice of stamps & dies for this week - it seems very popular with all the team members. Bright & Beautiful 6" X 6" DSP, still available through the online store, makes for an interesting background.

These flowers are fun to colour, and always look stunning in any combination. My favourite way to colour is with Stampin' Blends.

CARD 2:
Another DSP which had a suggestion of Bubble Bath was Thoughtful Journey. It has pretty scenes on it which I like to bring to the front as a focal point.

Countryside Corners Dies cut a series of sizes which can be used to create frames around the image. The patterned paper and Bubble Bath labels were cut the same size and layered in a staggered fashion.

Two strips of ribbon were laid across the card with a bow to finish off.

I wonder what Theresa Gerrard has shared in Bubble Bath? Let's hop over to check it out.

If at any time you find a broken link or would like to see a full list of participants, please head to the blog of our host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Catherine Proctor.

Happy crafting,

From Boho Blue to Bubble Bath.

Just for fun I have made a card this week which takes us from this week's Colour Creation Blog Hop colour, Boho Blue on to next week's which is Bubble Bath. Anyone would think I had planned it!

Using Thoughtful Journey DSP from the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue, I cut a large label with Countryside Corners dies, and another the same in Bubble Bath. It is the largest and by staggering the labels, it created a border at the top and left.

Thoughtful Wishes bundle was used for the foliage, and the smaller die from Countryside Corners for the sentiment label.

I have been an active Stampin' Up! demonstrator for 14 years, and thanks to my wonderful team I am at Silver Elite level. One of the joys of crafting is sharing it with others, so I hold monthly classes both in my home and in the community. Do get in touch if you have questions about classes or Stampin' Up! products.

Swaps For Onstage - Reverse Masking Technique

As this blog goes live, I will be very excited heading into the first stamping event for Melbourne Onstage 2024! If I don't already, very shortly I will have a new stamp set from the soon-to-be-released Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue 2024-2025 - I chose Country Flowers bundle, so stamps and dies for this one. I'll share some cards soon.

One thing we do at Onstage is swap with other demonstrators, and you may be one who is visiting my blog to find out a little more about how I made my swap.

I mounted the Coffee With Friends ladies on the bench and the sentiment on the one block so they were lined up perfectly. These first few were stamped in Tuxedo Black Momento before I decided that I preferred Early Espresso. It stamps just as dark as black, and the ink seemed more even.

After the images are stamped, it is time to stamp and cut masks. You can use the mask 2-4 times before it gets too wet with ink and tears, but it was a lot of fiddly fussy cutting for those masks, ha ha!

The top stamp in Oceanfront is the one I used for the sky with Boho Blue. The grass was the middle stamp, inked up in Granny Apple Green and stamped twice in opposite directions for good coverage.

After the first tries, I featured the sky more prominently, and full strength instead of stamped off as above. The masks do need to be peeled of carefully both to be able to re-use them and to not damage the image they masked.

The stamped piece was die cut with Countryside Corners dies and I lost some of the stamped grass I had added from the Oceanfront stamp, but it was worth it. The Boho Blue layer was cut with another Countryside Corners die. It has been embossed with the Splatters 3D embossing folder from the duo Stripes & Splatters TIEF. These smaller folders fit the mini Cut n Emboss machine.

Another rectangle layer was added in Misty Moonlight and for a finished card I would glue it straight to a Boho Blue card base. My card bases are cut at 14.5cm across the middle of an A4 piece of card because it ties in better with the American measurements the dies come in.
Happy crafting,

CTC #442 CASE a Sketch

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

This week we are CASE-ing  a Sketch from page 48 of the mini catalogue. That's the No Bones About It card, but to make it simpler, we have a sketch for you to use.

Each of my cards is a variation of the sketch, using Inked & Tiled stamp plus Inked Botanical DSP just to share how versatile a sketch can be.

Card 1:

A single sheet of DSP for the background, with Lost Lagoon cut with a Countryside Corners die and a tag die from Merriest Trees.

Just for a bit of fun the tag has been tilted.

Card 2:

My pack of paper had a lot of leftover strips, so I decided to use the smallest stitched square from Stylish Shapes dies and create a patchwork background.

This is the same label as card one, stamped with a small stamp to give some texture. Another stamp from Inked & Tiled was stamped along the bottom to fill that space.

Card 3:

Nearly the same as Card 2 with a change of colour for the label. While I was embossing the label, I added in a strip for the bottom of this card. Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder is the name of this one and doesn't it look lovely on the Very Vanilla?

We love for you to share your projects using the challenges. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the crew make using the sketch this week, my favourite type of challenge.
Next CTC design Team member joining the hop this week is Rebecca Scurr

All products used to make these cards are Stampin' Up! and are available in my online store or contact me to find out more details.

Colour Creations - Week #9 - Pecan Pie

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person. This week we are show-casing a new colour to the Stampin' Up! core colour range - Pecan Pie

Shades of brown are often associated with nature and masculine cards. I took my cue from the Let's Go Fishing 12" X 12" paper, still at 15% off until June 30th. It includes Misty Moonlight as another of its colours, which I really love. Actually, blue and brown seem like a very comfortable match!

The card was made using a favourite Z-Fold card which allows a good display of patterned paper. I continued using the Gone Fishing bundle to make a Father's Day card.

Counryside Corners dies are perfect for creating labels, and inners for cards. They are varying sizes and can be layered up as much or as little as you wish.

I'm not really sure what the 'fishing bits' are for apart from the hooks, but felt sure they should be silver.
