Colour Creations - Week #9 - Pecan Pie

Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person. This week we are show-casing a new colour to the Stampin' Up! core colour range - Pecan Pie

Shades of brown are often associated with nature and masculine cards. I took my cue from the Let's Go Fishing 12" X 12" paper, still at 15% off until June 30th. It includes Misty Moonlight as another of its colours, which I really love. Actually, blue and brown seem like a very comfortable match!

The card was made using a favourite Z-Fold card which allows a good display of patterned paper. I continued using the Gone Fishing bundle to make a Father's Day card.

Counryside Corners dies are perfect for creating labels, and inners for cards. They are varying sizes and can be layered up as much or as little as you wish.

I'm not really sure what the 'fishing bits' are for apart from the hooks, but felt sure they should be silver.

  4. You are right, Rachel, this design is great for showcasing a few different patterns of DSP. The silver fishing bits surely need to be just that!!! A great masculine card using that suite.

  5. LOL, I would guess that they could be sinkers, but it's been a long time since I went fishing! Your card is fantastic, and I agree that the blue and brown work nicely together.

Great choice of paper for this fancy fold card Rachel. Even though you don't know what the "fishy'" bits are they do look good in silver, which is also very much appropriate. Not sure what the twine is but it really suits the card theme.

  9. This is a great male card and I love the z fold to show off the the DSP. The Misty Moonlight goes so well with Pecan Pie! Your silver fishy bit are perfect to finish off your card and plus the twine makes me think of my Dad making his own flies for fishing so that is just perfect too! I love that you have used the countryside dies that worked really well! Great card!
