AWH Heart of Christmas Showcase September

Another opportunity to Blog Hop with the lovely ladies from the Art With Heart team, and its a Christmas one, hosted by the wonderful Judy May, who always creates the most beautiful cards.
Pop back to Judy for the next blog to check out.

Peace and Joy with the co-ordinating word dies (Joy Dies) is a delightful stamp to mix and match with all sorts of paper, and other stamp sets. We had wanted these words with three layers for ages, and I am getting a heap of cards made using them.

My first card shows off a branch of foliage from Forever Fern, which I am featuring on World Card-making Day - October 3. Other stamps and dies are from the Peace & Joy Bundle.

What better then the World Globe from the Beautiful World Bundle when you are wishing 'Peace On Earth'? Another leaf from Forever Fern is placed atop the world. When you have fine dies such as these words & the globe stand, it pays to include adhesive sheets in your order.

I guess this card is the simplest of the lot, but still very effective I think. A white panel stamped with holly leaves and berries from the Peace & Joy stamp set, along with 2 layers of word, and a stamped secondary sentiment. These are so easy to stamp and trim to use.

I hope you are getting enough time to make a timely start on your Christmas cards, it will be here before we know it!

Masculine Cards With Texture

So many people find making cards for boys and men, that much more challenging than the ones they make for girls and ladies.
Most of my family are males, so I need to practise a lot, especially when I don't have a stamp relating to their current interest. Between them, there are a LOT of interests! We have surfing, bodyboarding, snowboarding, cycling including BMX racing, stop-motion video making, drawing cartoons, bonsai, general gardening, wood turning, resin moulding ...... but not too many stamps fit those interests -LOL!

The texture folders in the new Stampin' Up! Annual catalogue are fabulous for all sorts of cards but particularly masculine ones. The Misty Moonlight card shows the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, In Good Taste designer Series paper, a big sentiment from A Grand Kid, a new stamp set that I just HAD to get!

The video link shows you a 20 minute video making the card below the link.

On the Cinnamon Cider card, I've included the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder, Beautiful World stamps and the reverse of the In Good Taste DSP. There are differences between the two Cinnamon Cider cards, because everytime I make a card, I change something up, unless they are for a swap. The patterns in the In Good Taste DSP are so varied that they will be useful for all types of cards. Imagine the blue tiles with a jar of sunflowers in front. There is a pretty pink fabric included in this paper range as well, so plenty of options for males and females.

I used the 'happy birthday' from Itty Bitty Birthdays on all three cards, that stamp set has something for every birthday. Now I'm feeling all inspired to go try out this card 'map' with some other papers I have in my stash.

Just at the moment, my two favourite In Colors are Cinnamon Cider and Misty Moonlight, and I thought you might like to compare them with colours we already have.

Please check out the NEW online store, no one will pester you to buy while you're there, just browse to your hearts content.
