Contributors to this blog hop are all members of Claire Daly's Art With Heart group. We love chatting, crafting and getting together in person. This is week 44 of our blog hop and the featured colour is Real Red. I imagine that most of us are in a state of excitement tonight as tomorrow we will begin meeting up in Melbourne for a 3-day Stampin' Up! event. Can you imagine the noise levels?
This card featuring Hot Air Balloon bundle was shared at my March classes, and I chose the supporting colours for Real Red as they are strong and summery. Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue for one hot air balloon, with Azure Afternoon and Real Red over white for the larger one.
It's a good idea to use adhesive sheets on the card you use for the lacy trim, much easier than specks of glue. We are also in agreement that it was easier to cut the label first and then stamp the sentiment.
The Stitched With Whimsy dies add a lovely, subtle decoration to an otherwise rather plain border.

Beautiful colours, Rachel. I love your use of the Stitched With Whimsy die for the background. Great, fun, card!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous colour combination, Rachel! I love everything about this card and thank you for the top tip re die cutting the label before stamping.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely card Rachel. I love the stitched with whimsy die on the Real Red background to your balloons. I think opening the card that way adds to the flight of the balloons too. Love the colour combo in the balloons. I still won't get in one but your card is lovely 😊
ReplyDeleteOh I love it - the red frames those fantastic balloons beautifully, Rachel. I really need to show this bundle some love after seeing your wonderful creations!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely card Rachel and the Real Red frame using the Stitched With Whimsy die is very effective
