Favourite Retiring Punch CTC#229

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project. This week we showcase our favourite retiring punch. Mine is this Lemon Builder punch, but I also used the 1¾" circle punch which is also retiring this catalogue. You most certainly need to order that one if you don't own it already. I used it here for the large rounds of orange, lemon and lime, but it is a very much-used size.

In a few weeks I am teaching the Floating Frame technique that is all the rage at the moment, so I thought it might be a good idea to have another practice to see what potentially could be a problem. Lemon Zest is the name of the stamp set, which is also retiring.

A lot of stamping and punching is involved, and it is possible to use the Stamparatus to position the lemon and 2 leaves so they can be punched at the one time. I didn't worry too much about using my template this time, as I was changing colours a few times for the different citrus.

When you cut out the centre section for the frame, you are left with a rectangle to use somewhere else. It was actually quite a small rectangle, so I used some more punched pieces as well. The circles were punched with the 1¾" circle punch which is also retiring, and that is one I will definitely hang onto. Don't forget to add one to your order before they are gone.

Happy Birthday in Lemon Zest is a nice clear image, and seems even crisper and clearer when it is heat embossed on black card with white embossing powder.

I'm sure there is a punch you too are sad to see retiring. Would you care to CASE the catalogue and share your creation at our Facebook page?

Next up is the wonderful Julia Quinn

  2. This is a great set to do the floating technique with. Such a bright and fun card. I love this stamp set and punch, it's sad to see it go. Now I really must go check to see if I have the 1 3/4" punch as well!
