We are nearing the end of the Occasions catalogue, just another fortnight until it ends and Stampin' Up!® will also launch the NEW Annual Catalogue. A few weeks back I was working with this English Garden DSP and had been focused on the lovely florals in the pack. However, the reverse of these papers are equally stunning and more masculine, or at least gender-neutral. I love the colours in this paper, and it spoke to me of paint brush strokes. What do you think? The Hostess stamp set in the Occasions catalogue is Love You Sew. It has some quirky little sayings, and I do have an urge to add RED at the end of 'Let's paint the town' but of course there's no red on this paper.
Lots of Labels Framelits provided a perfect spot for the stamping and I added in the 'Happy Birthday' from Party With Cake to make it clear why we were painting the town. It wasn't a perfect impression but I decided to leave it alone. The good news is that Party With Cake made it into the new catalogue, so if you love those sentiments that look like they've been typed with a genuine old typewriter, this could be one to add to your collection. You could use almost any shade of brown, blue or green with this paper and I settled on Soft Suede, Old Olive and Lost Lagoon. We say goodbye to Lost Lagoon in a fortnight, so if you love it, make sure you've ordered some.
When I made this card I wasn't sure what I had in mind for it, but I do need to have ANOTHER 40th birthday card for my son to give to one of his mates in a fortnight. Although this man is a plumber, and I had intended using the tools in Guy Greetings, he is also in the process of renovating an old weatherboard house. Maybe this will, indeed be a suitable card for a renovator!
