Colour Creations Insta Hop - Pretty Peacock - Week 43

When the January-April mini catalogue was released late last year, I could not have been happier! With a predominately masculine family, the Gears & Textures bundle and Nature Walk DSP (and scrapbook workshop) were absolutely what I needed.

Pretty Peacock is the featured colour for Colour Creations Insta Hop this week, and I have to say, this colour is in my Top 10 favourite colours. Luckily it was included in the Nature Walk DSP to make the creating of this card so much easier.

Taking inspiration from page 53 of the J-A catalogue I pieced the card front with DSP to create a contrasting central panel. Some stamping with Versamark was next, followed with a sprinkling of silver embossing powder before heat embossing. This is always amazing to see the powder magically melt, and this time speckles were totally permissable!!!

Of course, it made sense to heat emboss the sentiment too and then the fun of die cutting and decorating could begin.

This card was for a special grandson turning 16 so the inside was decorated and a silver foil "16" was cut using small retired numeral dies and added to the centre of a cog. I've been making good use of The Right Words to add this larger sentiment inside cards and the 'Happy Birthday' from this set is just the right size too. This stamp will soon retire as it is a red rubber stamp. There are ingredients in red rubber which is becoming difficult to obtain, so the decision was made to cease using it.

If  you've ever wondered why Stampin' Up! makes black Dimensionals this is a perfect example. The black disappears behind a darker shade such as Pretty Peacock, and because there are 2 sizes in the one packet, these mini Dimensionals are the perfect fit.

Wishing you a crafty week, Onstage in Sydney begins for demonstrators tomorrow afternoon - very excited!!!

Colour Creations Insta Hop- week #33 -Mossy Meadow

Mossy Meadow is perfect for this Perfectly Pears card. I took my cue from the patterned paper and even die cut the pear and flowers above from the DSP.

With this 'Card-in-a-card' design, you have lots of room for sentiments, stamping and signatures.

Two different versions of this card were made using papers from the paper pack and the same card design.

Is Mossy Meadow a colour you use or not?

Happy Crafting,

Colour Creations Insta Hop Week #32 -Misty Moonlight

Needing a masculine card in a hurry I decided to step-up a card kit and add some additional stamping. Misty Moonlight is a deep, soft blue with a slightly muted, smoky undertone which sits between a true navy and a denim blue in the Neutrals range.

This particular pattern seems to suit the stamped pier extending out into the water and then fading at the top for sky. Kits are fun and changing them up is a bit more fun!

 Happy crafting,

CTC #547 CASE Annual Catalogue

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. Each week you can check back to see who has been inspired by the challenge and what they created.

The challenge this week was a very open-ended one - CASE the Annual catalogue. On page 128 I found an emboss resist technique and decided to tweak it to suit myself. I used an embossing folder and a blending brush to lightly add some background colour.

A mix of die cut leaves from the new Petals of Beauty bundle cut from vellum, Lost Lagoon card and a scrap of DSP were attached to the lower right front.

The concept artist at Stampin' Up! has used The Right Words stamp set for the sentiment, and it seemed appropriate to use the same one. I know just the person to send this card to.

The inside has a little more blending and a stamped leaf, as does the envelope.

Now it's your turn. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE.

Next up is the amazing Julia Quinn, let's check out what she has shared.

Week 10 - Blackberry Bliss

Playing with some newish stamps, dies and paper to create a card using mainly Blackberry Bliss. These Impressions Abloom dies make such pretty flowers and adding colour with a blending brush to white die cuts gives a subtle version of Blackberry Bliss.

The Right Words is an essential stamp for any stash with the variety of sentiments and verses to suit many occasions. I used a birthday sentiment on the front and a short birthday greeting on the inside for this card.

For 3 days only, Wednesday 9th - Friday 11th, you can order any of the Two-tone card at 20% off.

Colour Creations Insta Hop - Strawberry Slush - week 4

Week 4 of Colour Creations Insta Hop and we are featuring Strawberry Slush. Oddly, it's a returning InColor, which in my 14 years with Stampin' Up! I have never heard of previously.

Secret Sea is the contrast colour I paired with it, cutting a set of the Gallery Blooms frame dies and using two of them.

An order with Stampin' Blends onboard has arrived so I used Strawberry Slush & Daffodil Delight to colour those blooms, with Cloud Cover for the leaves.

What did I do with the leftover frame? Made another card of course!

Something Old, Something New...

One of my grandsons is celebrating a birthday today and he is totally into "Olde Worlde", so his birthday request was braces and a gold pocket watch. To match the gift I 'borrowed' this pocket watch from a retired kit, Timeless Greetings and the greeting stamp seemed appropriate too.

Something old is Boho Blue, the lighter blue card which recently retired but pairs with Take To The Sky DSP, which is still current. The Adventurous Sky stamps and dies released to go with this paper are in the Last Chance section at a reduced price.

The 'New' is the two sentiments on the inside of the card. The Right Words stamp is found on page 89 of the latest Stampin' Up! annual catalogue. It includes many sentiments for both the outside and inside of cards, a frequent request from customers.

Do you hang onto old supplies or ditch them?
