Little Pink Bunny FMS 118

I have been sorting through my huge quantity of Stampin' Up! retired goodies since we returned from holiday, preparing to sell off heaps of stamp sets, paper and some ink pads etc.

However, while I slice and dice, I come across paper I loved, or hadn't noticed or .......whatever. This DSP is long retired, might have been called Nursery Nest I think. It's very sweet anyway, and I had several of the bunny stamped and cut, but not colored. She comes from Storybook Friends and has the word surprise! underneath, but that is easy enough to leave off by not inking it. The base card 'needed' something too, so I settled on the word girl, which is in the Baby Prints stamp set. A little bit of Pistachio Pudding grass from Dinoroar, and a rhinestone at the end of the wand, finish it off.

Just a very simple card, to suit the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.
Thanks for passing, leave a comment if you like

Epic Birthday PP164

It's funny the way things work out sometimes, isn't it?

I began to play with this Paper Players sketch challenge rather too close to the deadline, using 'pretty' colours. I just couldn't think of what I would use for the centre element, till I remembered this joyful pup from Storybook Friends. Somehow, his exuberance didn't seem to match the quiet colours I had already put together, so I have shelved that card for another time, while I pulled out This and That Epic Day DSP  and placed it on a base of Baked Brown Sugar. I used the Big Shot and Framelits Oval collection to cut the image and a slightly larger one to frame it and because I stamped with Black Stazon Ink, it was safe to water colour the puppy with Baked Brown Sugar. The Lucky Limeade strip at the bottom was also cut on the Big Shot with an Edgelit - Finishing Touches. There is this zig zag one and also a pretty lacy one in the pack.
I have also used a curved birthday greeting from a retired stamp set, Crazy For Cupcakes, because the curve works so well with the image and the oval framelit.

Twine threads easily through the holes in the button.

It's almost the weekend, hope you have a good one,

Welcome Baby PP151

It's always such a happy occasion when a new baby arrives safely, don't you think?
In some ways that makes New Arrival cards the easiest cards to make.

I decided to base my card on the sketch by Nance at The Paper Players. My card is made using Soft Sky card, a colour that is NEW to me and returning to the subtles range, and I can understand why.
I used a greeting from Lovely Labels stamped in Marina Mist and chose the sweet little kitten from Storybook Friends which I water-colored using the Aquapainter. I bought this stamp set after receiving the cutest swap made with it at the South Pacific Stampin' Up! Convention in May, I love all those sweet little animals, so cute!

29th June 2013
The {Welcome Baby, sweetness unlimited} is a retired single stamp from a few years ago that I retain in my stash, just because.... and it is stamped onto a half doily, the largest one to be cut from Perfect Pennant Bigz L. I usually have a "cutting session" from time to time with my Big Shot so I can keep some on hand.

The strip of  Storybook Friends DSP helps tie the colours together, and I added a strip of Marina Mist Taffeta ribbon too. Now I'm all ready for the next baby boy that arrives!

I'm travelling to spend time with and babysit two grandsons and their little sister on Saturday - lovely
You have a lovely weekend too,
Rachel
