Enjoy The Little Things CI#66

Colour INKspiration is a fortnightly blog initiated by Bronwyn Eastley in Tasmania. The design team is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project.

The assignment for the design team, and you if you choose to join the challenge,  - use at least three of the colours. I may have strayed off-course with my first card by accidently using Flirty Flamingo as well, but I decided to include it anyway, as the second one is correct. Forgive me? Since I chose to use the Pigment Sprinkles, which are available in 6 Stampin' Up! colours including Gorgeous Grape. I substituted Melon Mambo for Lovely Lipstick and Mango Melody for Pineapple Punch. These projects are mainly for Avid Crafters, but can be adapted to beginners and casual crafters.

I began making my first project using Shimmery White card, heat embossed with gold using the background stamp Crackle Paint. This background stamp is a favourite of mine.

On this card, the colours dried to a soft and subtle tone of those bold shades, and a layer chocolate mud cake was popped on top of the Lovely Lipstick cake plate.

Piece Of Cake is a stamp set with a half dozen versions of cake, and so many sentiments that you can mix and match to your hearts desire. There is a cake and cake plate punch, which makes the stamp & punch perfect for a beginning stamper, while the techniques used here are for the advanced crafter. Beginners could try Designer Series Paper instead of the heat embossing and Pigment sprinkles.

Next card uses the same colours, but watercolour paper has been substituted for the Shimmer White and the result is quite different. The Pigment Sprinkles tend to be absorbed a little more quickly, therefore don't spread as much. I tried the new Glitter Black heat embossing powder for the sentiment and dragonflys. Casual crafters who have a Heat Tool could attempt this quite confidently.

Friend Like You is bundled with Friendly Silhouettes dies, so the foliage is all die cut in one piece from black card, and looks wonderful against the bright background. Bundles give you a lovely 10% discount off the products.

The inside of the card has just been stamped in black memento, and a leftover strip of the watercolour paper has finished off the card.

Perhaps these colours inspire you to create too, and if so, please add your creation to our Facebook Challenge page here.

Feels Like Frost CTC#246

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, create Craft By Post classes, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project. This week we are CASE-ing Feels Like Frost DSP, using the layouts on page 40 for inspiration.

After noticing there were a lot of subtle background images on the paper I heat embossed two different leaf images onto the watercolour paper and used Shimmer White heat emboss powder. I chose to use Balmy Blue to watercolour the back ground, mainly because I have the reinker for that colour, but not for others in the  Feels Like Frost colour range.

I tried to create a darker area toward the centre of the card, but of course a lot of that has been covered by the label. Most of the cards in the picture above feature central labels, some quite ornate. So with a fancy label cut from Glimmer paper, a shiny silver ribbon, along with the Shimmer White leaves, this birthday card sparkles all the way.

The recipient for this card is reluctantly turning 70, but she definitely loves a bit of sparkle!!! Hopefully this will tickle her fancy.

There is always so much inspiration in these catalogues, I'm sure that is why CASE-ing the Catty is so successful! Now it's your turn to show what you can do with a little catalogue inspiration. Add your work at our Facebook challenge here.

Next you are hopping over to the very talented Peta Stephen, and her cat Marvi, who is always up to mischief.
