Copper & Woodgrain

One of my favourite Christmas cards this year, and popular with my card classes too. They liked this 'different' colour palette for Christmas, and all the techniques, as well as a new fun fold.

Taking a cue from the Oxidised Copper specialty designer series paper, NOEL was copper heat embossed before die cutting, as was the sprig of foliage for the front.

The leaves on the front foliage were filled in with watered down Pecan Pie ink, while on the inside of the card, the stamped ink was washed with water on a brush.

Joy Of Christmas DSP provided the music paper, and a subtle woodgrain paper.

A verse from Wishes All Round (about to retire) was used inside, as I think it was the nicest one we had this year.

Linen Thread tied in a double bow and a wooden embellishment were the last to be added to this card.

If you are wanting to order any of these supplies, it will probably be too late for delivery before Christmas, but there is always next year.

Your orders are very much appreciated, no matter how small or big, every little bit helps me to meet my minimums, and keep on creating. Hopefully you are inspired by some of the projects I share and want to make your own. My online shop is open anytime.

CTC #439 CASE Joy of Christmas (28 - 31)

CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource, and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

We are CASE-ing the Joy of Christmas suite which consists of two stamp/die bundles: Joy of Noel & Classic Christmas, plus Joy of Christmas DSP. I thought I would manage with just Christmas Classics but it wasn't long before I had to order Joy of Noel as well!

When I have new stamps in the craft room, I turn straight to my catalogue for inspiration. I decided that the leafy surround needed to be water coloured so I die cut a number of these from water colour paper, popped drops of ink onto acrylic blocks and began splashing water and ink around!

For the first card I kept it simple with a strip of DSP from Joy Of Christmas DSP across the card. There are no embellishments or ribbon added here.

The second card has been stepped-up with a Lost Lagoon base, and a small leaf stamped over it for texture.

Another water coloured leafy surround for the frame was added over a leafy piece of the Joy of Christmas paper. Die cut leaves and gold self-adhesive sequins embellish this card and there has been a change of ink colour for the stamped letters forming 'NOEL'.

A darker base called for a white lining, which has also had some stamping included. Do you like the simple version, or the stepped-up one?

We love for you to share your projects using the challenges. We do request that the projects you submit have been created especially for this challenge. You can CASE directly or be inspired by a sketch/layout, colour combo or embellishment. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE letting us know which card or project you've CASE-d.

Our next design team member this week is Peta Stephen
