Beautiful Bouquet

This simple birthday card was put together after the medallion embossing paste dried using some pieces stamped and diecut with Beautiful Bouquet Stamps and Bouquet Bunch Framelits. This stamp set has 37 stamps, 15 of which are the loveliest sentiments.

Guess what? We are getting Shimmery White and Silver Embossing pastes in the Occasions Catalogue! Would you like your free copy of this magazine? Let me know, and I'll get one to you before the catalogue launches on January 3rd 2018.

Beautiful Bouquet

Beautiful Bouquet is a lovely addition to the Stampin' Up!® range of produsts with a 37 piece photopolymer stamp set and Framelits. As is usual with new additions, these are bundled at a special price of 10% off for the life of the Annual catalogue.

I haven't stamped a sentiment onto my card yet, but it was the many sweet sentiments that made me order this bundle. The many different blossoms are another pretty good reason too, aren't they? I have copper foil down each side of the art piece, which ties in with the knot of copper ribbon around the stems.

Happy crafting

Basics To Brilliance Part Three

Finishing off this series of Basics to Brilliance with the Top Of The Range example, the brilliant card I guess. To craft this, you need more supplies of course and one way you can achieve this is by joining up as a Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. There is never any pressure from Stampin' Up!® or me for you to do classes, parties etc if that is outside your comfort zone. As a hobby demonstrator, you will get 20% discount on your own purchases, and those of family and friends who purchase from you. You can read more here, and feel free to contact me for a chat, no obligation to join just because you asked. We can maybe discuss what you'd like in your starter kit, which you choose yourself from the catalogue - $235 value of product, free shipping, a bonus of $121 worth of tools, a Christmas stamp set, glue etc for July only - and you pay $169 total.

Coloured card (Berry Burst) is used for the base, then a layer of Lemon-Lime Twist. Wood Textures DSPS is a big favourite of mine, and it has gone onto back order in the States, so they must love it too! I chose one of the lighter shades, thinking it is more feminine, and easier to stamp directly onto. I repeated the previous stamping with Old Olive for the stems, Berry Burst for the flowers. The same amount of die cutting as version two, but this time the addition of an In Color Bitty Bow. Again, there are three Glitter Enamel Dots (need to order more of those!)

Which do you like best - basic, medium or brilliant? If I can help you to get your crafting started, let me know.
Let's keep on crafting
Rachel

Basics To Brilliance Part Two

Yesterday I shared the card in front, a basic card with fairly easy stamping and a sentiment. Before I sent it on it's way, I stamped a matching envelope with a half-bunch of flowers. Wouldn't you like to be able to make handcrafted projects like this for your friends?

You're getting a sneak peak at the three cards in this series here, but I'm about to talk about the middle-of-the-range card, which has been 'stepped-up' just a bit.

This card has been stamped on Whisper White, and layered onto a slightly larger piece of Lemon-Lime Twist. The stems were stamped in Old Olive, this colour goes really well with Lemon-Lime Twist. Some flowers were stamped directly onto the card, as was the ribbon bow around the stems. A few flowers and the wrap for the stems were stamped and diecut. The main problem with layering card, is making sure that the measurements are even and straight. Our Stampin' Up!® trimmer helps with the grid it has on the base plate and apart from that it is practice. The card is standard, whether you measure in metric or imperial, and then you decide on an amount you'll reduce it by. It might be .5cm or ¼inch on the short and long side, so long as it is consistent.

You can create a card like this with fairly basic supplies. Not a very complicated card, but you've now added in some layering and a little die-cutting. Don't forget to decorate the envelope too, so the recipient knows they're getting 'happy mail'.

Tomorrow night I'll share with you the top of the range card

Beginners Basic Stamping or Basics To Brilliance Part One

Have you wanted to try stamping or are you more advanced after a few years of experience? There is a process called 'Step-it-up' where each card is a little more advanced than the one before but my good friend and stamping buddy came up with a catchy phrase the other night - "Basics to Brilliance". Loved it, and decided to roll with that for an extra post or two this week.

Tonight we will address the basics.
Beautiful Bouquet is a photopolymer stamp set on page 92 of the catalogue, and if you have a Big Shot you are able to utilise Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies to cut some of these pieces out. If purchased at the same time using the bundled code, they cost you 10% less, and during July, for every $90 spent you earn a voucher for $9 to be spent in August. It will be applied automatically to your order and the vouchers are emailed to you. Keep the code and add them to your August order.
The Host code for orders is 3DZBVQXR and you'll find this bundle here in my shop. The items are also available individually.

Going, Going, Gone - Get retiring projects

Some of the benefits of photopolymer (for beginners especially) is they are see through and you can see where you are placing flowers, sentiments etc. They also retail slightly less than red rubber. This set contains 37 stamps, including some of the nicest sentiments I have ever seen. Birthdays, congratulations, friendship and marriage are the main occasions they address.

For the basic card, I have used half a sheet of thick Whisper White, folded in half and two shades of ink. My choice was Berry Burst and Old Olive. I will confess - when I stamped the group of stems, I moved the stamp and ended up with a second, fainter impression of stems. You just move on, no one would ever question your intentions. Maybe you were after more stems, or a shadow. In my classes I teach ways to overcome these tiny issues which cause crafters anxious moments.I also smudged ink near the wrap that goes around the stem, and I've covered that up with a Glitter Enamel Dot, before adding two more randomly to balance the composition.

It's easy to stamp the individual flower heads at the end of the stems, so a great card for a beginner, or a quick and easy card for the more experienced crafter in a hurry. If you are close enough to me in South Morang, Victoria and would like a basic class, I'm happy to assist you to make one card for $10, two for $15 and it should take an hour or less. School holidays is great for me as I'm away from my usual Integration Aide role. You might even just like to try out this design to start yourself off. Tomorrow, I will share a stepped up version.

Keep on crafting,
Rachel
