CTC #360 CASE A Masking Project

The CASE-ing The Catty Crew are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand who take inspiration weekly from the catalogues. The catalogues are a fantastic resource and we love to inspire you to seek inspiration there too.

Masking can be done in a few different ways. You can use purchased masks such as the ones shown in the picture above, you can die cut and make your own and you can mask images with paper to give dimension to the piece you are working on. You can use ink, pastels or paste for dimension.

I've used one of the Stampin' Up! masks from Basic Patterns (#150697) in the Annual catalogue, to imitate the background of the left-hand card above.A blending brush loaded with ink was blended into linen. The linen paper is 12" x 12", self-adhesive and can be found on page 136 of the Annual catalogue.

I loved the way the ink spread slightly giving a soft, blurred look.
Since I was CASE-ing that card, I've used flowers and a label toward the right.

We love having you join in our challenges. Ask to join our Facebook group, and then add a picture of your CASE, and let us know which card or project you've CASE-d. No blog required, no special qualifications.

Your orders are very much appreciated, no matter how small or big, every little bit helps me to meet my minimums, and keep on creating. Hopefully you are inspired by some of the projects I share, and want to make your own. My online shop is open anytime and delivery by tracked Australia Post takes 5-10 days.

Currently, until March 16th, Stampin' Up! offer a bonus with your $90 order, a free item. This promotion is called SALE-A-Bration, and there are a number of different rewards including a couple of higher value ones for larger orders. Make sure that as you prepare to check out, you add your choice of bonus items.

  2. A fabulous setting for your pretty cone flowers. Thanks for pointing out the linen paper is self adhesive as I'd overlooked that.
