Magenta Madness is our colour for week 24, a lovely vibrant hot pink. The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart.
By cutting card front sized pieces from designer series paper, you are left with strips 10cm wide, the perfect size for a card front. These have been spaced out over the front of this base, and glued in place.
To unify the look, and to tone the colour just a touch, a piece of vellum has been embossed and laid over.
The embossing folder has been used on the inside of the card too.
And now it's time to see my lovely friend, Michele Taylor's beautiful creation.
Rachel I love the way you used the embossed vellum to tone down the bright DSP. It is a great technique that I always forget to use when faced with intimidating patterned paper. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteThe embossed vellum layer over the top of the DSP gives such a lovely effect, Rachel. Gorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, embossing the vellum to tone down such a vibrant colour is a wonderful idea. I love how you added the DSP in strips down your card too.
ReplyDeleteGosh Rachel, your card is so pretty! I love the softness created by the embossed vellum overlay.
ReplyDeleteI had to look twice at your description as at first I thought your photo was blurred but now having read your details I can see that the vellum adds a lovely soft touch to the brightness of Magenta Madness. Love the embossing for the inside too
ReplyDeleteRachel that embossed vellum looks incredible over the DSP and then you have mirrored this with your inside embossed piece too - just amazing!
