CASE-ing The Catty #3 Birthday

Hello again! Oh, aren't we having lots of fun CASE-ing the Catty?

The idea at CTC this week is to browse through pages 42-59 (AUS/NZ) and find a project that you would like to recreate.
You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment as a springboard for your own creations.
Have Fun!

For this week, the brief is 'Birthday'. I love making birthday cards. Since I became a Stampin' Up demonstrator over 4 years ago, I have made it a habit to think ahead and have cards ready for everyone on my list, and my list is long!

My inspiration this week  is a card at the bottom of page 51. I used the colours (loosely) as I believe the yellow might be So Saffron, but I went with Crushed Curry. I loved the texture of the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder and used it on the largest banner. The Chevron Embossing Folder on the Bermuda Bay base gave another contrasting texture.

We received Amazing Birthday for free at the South Pacific Convention, but I would have ordered it anyway. It's a fabulous set, very versatile. The Make and Take at Convention was so much fun to make and I have used an idea picked up there, to stamp one image in different colours, choose one to be the base and layer other colours over the top. Then last week, fellow design team member Alison Barclay made a gorgeous card with Postage Due and used an Essentials Hardware Clip on her banner. Like many people, I buy these cute little embellishments and hoard them. So I'm very happy that Alison inspired me to add clips to banners.

And here is a close-up of some of the detail on the banners. Do you like this colour combination?
I'd love it if you leave me a comment, and we are all happy to help you out with your crafting questions, or supplies (for Australian readers, in my case).
Don't forget to check back next week,

Rachel
