Freshly made Sketches #60 and CCMC226

2012 Create Thursday-006
It is well and truly time I participated in some challenges, and Freshly Made and Create with Connie and Mary are two of my favourites. It is worth your while to click on those links and take a look at all the wonderful inspiration there.

I needed a card for my darling husband's birthday tomorrow. Now, we have reached that lovely stage of life where we don't want much in the way of gifts, a happy family and pleasant companions are all you really need to travel through life comfortably, we have decided. So, his gift is quite a small one, a milk frother for his espresso coffee. (It probably has a much more technical name, LOL).

With that in mind, I turned to one of my favourite stamp sets from the Holiday catalogue, Scentsational Season and the Holiday Collection framelits to do a nice, neat cut. I textured the Cajun Craze card with the NEW Argyle Embossing Folder. The card has a folded piece of First Editions DSP for his morning paper tucked behind the Midnight Muse coffee mug. I used a doiley cut on the Big Shot from More Mustard card with the  NEW Delicate Doilies Sizzlet and added some banners to ground it cut from Comfort Cafè DSP.  Bitty Banners stamp set and Bitty Banners Framelits provided the "Happy Birthday" greeting.

You probably noticed already that I rotated the sketch for this card, no-one minds if you do that.

And just a little peek inside before I write in it, I inked up two of the stamps from a NEW set called From My Heart.  The big one says "The secret of life is enjoying the passing of time. James Taylor" and it is followed by another 'Happy Birthday" and there is some more of the First Editions DSP. I'm so glad Stampin' Up kept that for a second year, I seem to be using it a lot.

now before I sign off just a reminder about the great offers that Stampin' Up has for all of us this month.

Stampin' Up! has  TWO fabulous promotions for the month of November, and going into December - I'm so excited about them!

Firstly there's the FREE Paper Piercing Pack when you purchase the Keepsakes Ornament and Candlelight Christmas Bundle -if you haven't purchased the stamp set and framelits yet and you're dying to try making the ornament on the cover of the Holiday catalogue- doesn't this entice you just a little more? Either wood or clear mount stamps, patterned paper and paper piercing templates or stamps, dies, patterned paper and paper piercing. It certainly has encouraged me to invest some more money in my hobby.
WOULD YOU LIKE FREE INKPADS?

So while we think about that, for orders of $650 you can participate in the next offer from Stampin' Up. Now, I wouldn't suggest that one person would want to spend all that in one go, (although you're welcome to if you wish!) but you can show your catalogue around to friends and take orders to submit together or you can add your order to my group order. It needs to have been submitted by approximately 11.50pm on Friday, November 30th ( please don't leave it that late if you're thinking about participating!)

Be part of my group order.

For those people who like to place individual orders with me, you can still get some great freebies. I need 5 people to place a $130 order each and I will submit it as a virtual workshop order. Each person who submits an order will get:
  •  2 free ink pads, I am starting with Brights.
  •  $20 free product of your choice
  • One person can buy any item from either catalogue at 50% off!
This a great opportunity to get some FREE products

I will be submitting my personal order on Tuesday 20/11/2012 if you want to join into that one.
