Colour Challenge #keepstamping

This morning I decided to tidy my craft space but it wasn't long before I was distracted by paper, ink and stamps!!! I was cleaning and putting away stamp sets, and Tropical Chic was next one in line, when it occurred to me that this stamp would be great for the colour challenge for the weekend.

The stamparatus came in handy to step stamp the bar code in Pear Pizzazz, and Thank you in Night of Navy. It seemed a little plain, so I popped it through the Big Shot with a Subtle Embossing Folder, and still not satisfied, I stamped two flowers in Pumpkin Pie.

I'd love you to join me in using these colours or similar and post here on Facebook in the comments to share inspiration.

Wildly Happy CTC#257

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, create Craft By Post classes, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project. This week we are CASE-ing the kids and babies section of the Annual catalogue, pages 98-105.

I'm very glad of the opportunity to revisit the Annual Catalogue, especially as I've had Wildly Happy for some time now, and it has never been inked. I fell in love with the irresistable sketches of animal mothers & babies, so I'm CASE-ing the cards for  this stamp set, with a little creative variation.

Thinking the bunny was the cutest, I began by recreating this one with quite a few changes such as designer series paper and a white label, not blue etc. There's not a lot of colouring on this one, so it was quick and easy to put together.

Next came the mumma elephant and her calf. Although there was much more work in this one, it has ended up being my favourite. The background hints at the original with punched pieces in green, not timber-tone, using the Tailored Tag Punch. I used the catalogue as a guide for colouring, and feel very pleased with how it has turned out. Although I enjoy colouring so much, I don't yet consider myself an expert.

I had only one clip left in the tin, so now it's on a project - yay! Reminded myself to add some metallic designer elements too, while I was embellishing, and a monstera leaf from Tropical Chic. For the sentiment, I masked 'Wildly' with washi tape, so that only 'happy' stamped, and then added 'birthday' from Well Said.

The third card used the Panda image. Again, the catalogue came in handy for colouring this image. I found the kraft/spot card in my scraps, which was similar to pattern on the pillow box, and just went from there.

Ribbon, twine tags & pins were all thrown at this, with a very happy result I think. The pinks are all different from Rose Rococco through to Melon Mambo, but they still blend sweetly.

You can hop on over to South Australia now and check out what my lovely friend Kathryn has CASE-d this time.

There is always so much inspiration in these catalogues, I'm sure that is why CASE-ing the Catty is so successful! Now it's your turn to show what you can do with a little catalogue inspiration. Add your work at our Facebook challenge here.
