Colour Creations - Smokey Slate

The participants in Colour Creations are all Stampin' Up! demonstrators and members of Art With Heart. This is week 43 of Colour Creations Blog Hop, and we are up to Smokey Slate.

Hello Beautiful is probably not the name of a stamp set you'd think to use for a masculine card, but it has some wonderful solid shapes included, along with interesting 'little' images - like the scribble, dots etc. I stamped the shape with1st, 2nd & 3rd generation in Smokey Slate, overlapping in places.

The scribbles and dots were added in black Memento ink and then I pulled out Home & Garden to stamp the ladder and diecut before colouring with Smokey Slate Blends. 'Birthday Wishes' is from Home & Garden also, and after lining up the stamp on the card front, that sentiment was added using the step-stamping method, with the Stamparatus. You move the plate down one hinge mark and stamp, then move one more until you have a lovely line of greetings.

The same step-stamping was used for 'to the man who can do anything', this time stamped in Old Olive. The grass was die cut from the same shade of green and a few of the rock embellishments were placed on the 'ground'.

A little more stamping on the inside in Smokey Slate finishes this card nicely. Home & Garden has not made it into the Annual catalogue so if you need this stamp & die bundle, don't wait too long to place your order. I think it might be another popular one.

Next Art With Heart Team member to share is the talented Christine Blain. I wonder if her card is for a man, woman or child?

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop, Cathy Proctor, and she will have the list of all participants.

  4. Another delightful masculine card Rachel. Love your hinged stamped sentiment in the different colours. Also, love your use of the multigenerational stamping with the added touches from the same stamp set. Gorgeous (if I can say that about a masculine car).xxx
