This week at CASE-ing The Catty we are CASE-ing a leaf or tree project from the mini catalogue. Most projects in the mini catalogue seem to have leaves, and so Poinsettia Place Suite provided my inspiration project.
Sunflowers cheer me up, I try to grow them every year, with mixed success! After I saw fields of them in Italy during a wonderful trip to my husband's homeland, I've had this obsession. We were supposed to spend 3 weeks in Italy again this year, but Covid-19 put a stop to that.
Celebrate Sunflowers is a fabulous stamp set, with co-ordinating dies which are 10% off if you buy them as a 'bundle'. A few stems from Forever Fern have been added to the arrangement.
The designer series paper is Gilded Autumn SDSP, and actually this is the reverse of a gilded piece, often the 'B' side is just as lovely.
It's easy to 'pretty up' the inside with a stamp and strip of Gilded Autumn SDSP.
The flower centre has been sponged before three Flowers For Every Season Gems were added.
The talented Tina Gillespie is next designer to visit on this Blog Hop

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you can still have some beautiful sunflowers in your life this year, even if it isn't fields of Italian ones. I love the way you've CASEd this from a Christmas card, but the subtle changes to the colour palette so transforms it. The DSP on the sunflower is gorgeous. Lovely card.
ReplyDeleteYour cards is fabulous, Rachel! The sunflower looks so pretty, and I bet the ones in your garden are too. I have to say that I'm glad you didn't get to Italy this year - it hasn't had much success with containing COVID!
