You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator based in South Morang, and outer north-eastern part of Melbourne. Thank you for stopping to see my work. I love to stamp (and other crafts too) and have loved being a part of Stampin' Up! for nearly 8 years now. I hold classes in my home studio, demo at parties, coach my team and love life!!! Art With Heart is one of the larger teams in Australia, and it is a great community to be a member of. I'm happy to talk to you about any aspect of the company if you'd like to chat. But now for the business at hand - a colour challenge!
Have you tried the Stampin' Blends yet? I'm a big fan, love to sit and colour with them, but I have to admit Night Of Navy scares me! It is just so bold and prone to flowing over the lines when I'm trying to colour. Another demonstrator made a card using Bloom By Bloom and coloured the background which definitely influenced me to try this for myself.
There are 2 shades in each colour of Stampin' Blends, so I will confess. yes - it was Night Of Navy light I used - such a coward!!! I wasn't sure whether to colour any of the foreground, but decided to do all but the pot. Daffodil for flowers, Pear Pizzazz for leaves and Pool Party for the background.
I snapped this on my phone and shared it to Facebook two weekends ago when I was having a colouring session. I used the middle stamp that the glare from the window is hiding somewhat, but it is a Mother's Day stamp, and as I felt it would also make a good 'any reason' stamp I chopped it apart with scissors. It can still push back together for positioning as it was meant to be, so its not such a bad thing to do. I have some more beautiful cards to share from Just Because, as soon as I get them assembled.
It is always nice to add to the inside of a card too, so another part-picture and a sentiment from another stamp set in the Occasions catalogue, Itty Bitty Birthdays. It has 16 different small sentiments, including 'happy belated birthday' which I've needed to use twice the last few days! Sorry Kaz and Kathryn :(
This card is for the more experienced home crafter, someone who has a Big Shot, dies, embossing folders and a heat tool. The stamp set itself is perfect for #simplestamping with a pack of notecards, and an inkpad. Any questions? Feel free to ask, and I'll respond as soon as I'm able.
Now don't forget to see the other projects here.
The yellow embossing powder really pops on the night of navy cardstock and you just reminded me about the embossing folder still being current. I love how you have used the hostess stamp set, it is a fun birthday card.
ReplyDeleteLove Night of Navy with a pop of yellow. Lovely card Rachel.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool card! I never would have thought of colouring the background. I just received this stamp, so I may have to give it a go!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Rachel. Loving that pop of embossed yellow!
ReplyDeleteLovely card Rachel, It looks as though no-one had any problems with Night of Navy this week.
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous Rachel, I love that you had a go colouring the background with the navy Blends, very brave. I'm not sure I would have been so daring lol
ReplyDeleteSuch a great card, Rachel and you've inspired me to use this stamp too. Thanks for hopping along this week.
