Big Day Celebration - The Card Concept #33

My card came about as a default design, after I failed to centre the Big Day greeting in the middle of the Chalkboard Paper banner. I wasn't about to waste it, so once the ink dried, I ran washi tape down the left side to balance it all. I have to admit that I do rather like that feature! Also, love these little flowers punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I'm using these punches all the time as these small accents are perfect finishing touches on cards.
Melon Mambo is a favourite of mine, it's so girlie, and with all the black & grey, there was a need for a bright colour accent. Flowers, glimmer paper and rhinestones all help the party mood!

The Card Concept have given us a stimulus picture with these splashes of hot pink, and geometric shapes on the walls and ottoman, I hope there is an echo of that in my Clean & Layered work. Thanks for reading my blog.                                                   Cheers,                                                                                              Rachel

Cake...And Ice Cream

The blackboard look has been popular in home decor and stamping for a while now and I have new blackboard card to try out. It is very firm and gives a nice crisp image with White Craft Ink.

Fusion Card Challenge are celebrating their first anniversary and used an inspiration picture with a blackboard, banner and birthday greeting so I took my lead from there and used the sketch too. Happy birthday Fusion, and many happy returns!

Do you think the Candy Dots look like the magnets teachers like to have all over the blackboard/whiteboard to hold up worksheets and the like?

There is so much fun to be had mixing and matching stamp sets!! I'm totally besotted with these 'critters' in Cheerful Critters and it has been fun to combine it with one of the free Stampin' Up! SALE-A-BRATION stamp sets, Big Day. It starts to tell a story, almost. It was actually fairly easy to place the second sentiment inside the bear's sign, a very good fit.

Cheers,

Rachel
