Magnolias For Any Occasion

The Magnolia stamps are extremely popular, I'd suggest because of their versatility for any occasion. Magnolia Blooms may be a stamp set you've missed, because you won't find it in the Annual Catalogue, that has the larger Good Morning Magnolia, along with all the other goodies from the Magnolia Lane suite. It is actually featured in a small brochure, Experience Creativity, which is designed with the person new to stamping in mind.

This brochure has fewer stamps, shows the basic items you need to begin and features achievable projects. I've enjoyed sharing these less complicated projects but today wanted to show how you can use this simple set to create quite an elaborate card.

This is the same design as one of my previous cards and it has been stepped-up by stamping with Versamark and heat embossing with gold embossing powder onto watercolour paper. The colouring of the flowers & leaves was down with an Aqua painter and reinker. I also watercoloured the surrounds of the flowers with Balmy Blue reinker and used a Stampin' Write marker to splatter the background.

Layers, sequins and some ribbon all add to this creation, making it suitable for a favourite ladies birthday card. Wouldn't you like to give this a go?

Your Friendship CTC#233

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand.You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project. This week we are CASEing a layout from page 36, and there are plenty of choices there to inspire!

Of course, page 36 features the very popular Magnolia Lane Suite, including Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and I do not own it at this stage, which is a good thing as it means I need to substitute another stamp. Free As A Bird ended up being my choice, used to CASE the striped card on the right of page.

The original card has 2 layers of designer series paper with vellum in between, and so my first decision was which paper to choose. Initially I was going to use a different one, but really, the front and reverse of the same piece is a logical way to go. Since I'd chosen the floral bunches, I used just the flowers on my label, which echoes the shape on the card I CASE-d.

Again, as I don't have the Magnolia Lane bundle, I pulled Seasonal Layers dies from my drawer to cut the bottom of these papers. I've been away visiting my grandchildren this weekend, so I rushed to finish and now I need to go finish the inside off.

Magnolia Blooms CI#57

Colour INKspiration is a fortnightly blog initiated by Bronwyn Eastley in Tasmania. The design team is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand.You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. These colours speak of flowers, don't you think? Because my newest flower stamp is Magnolia Bloom, I chose this to make several examples in this colour range and using the three different sentiments included in this compact stamp set.

Firstly, a card for the person new to stamping. There are only two stamps to use on this card, and a small amount of colouring with Watercolor Pencils or Stampin' Blends. It would be very difficult to go wrong making a card like this, and the joy it would give the recipient receiving a handcrafted card is immeasurable!

Magnolia Bloom is a simpler version of Good Morning Magnolia, which is in the Annual Catalogue on pages 36-39. Magnolia Bloom is in a smaller brochure aimed at our beginner stamper, but using the same great quality products Stampin' Up! produce. I'm looking forward to teaching some new students about the joy gained from a little stamping and colouring.

These three cards are aimed at the casual stamper, to learn a little about using Stampin' Blends to colour, and some simple masking. The stamp set has three images, a large bloom, a smaller bud with leaves, and a single leaf, and as I mentioned already, three essential sentiments - Happy Birthday, Thank You, Congratulations.

As you can imagine, these cover many of the main events people like to make cards for. The magnolia would also be suitable for Sympathy cards, and the larger set in the main catalogue does have 'thinking of you' amongst its offerings of sentiments. Although not specifically for this sad occasion, it can sometimes suffice.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the possibilities here for simple stamping, and enjoy stepping it up with layers and easy techniques for the casual stamper.
