CASE-ing Colours CTC#283

This week the challenge is to use the colours of  the Trimming The Town DSP which are Misty Moonlight, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Old Olive and Early Espresso. I love blue for Christmas, really I just love blue, so this is a magical colour scheme for me.

Cherish The Season was my first choice to ink up this week, and I started off with a relatively simple card. Leaves are stamped in Old Olive toward the top left corner, the sentiment is lined up against the bottom of the card and raised a little before stamping with Poppy Parade.

The beauty of this is, if by some chance you smudge the sentiment, you could restamp on a strip of card and lay it over the top. The width of the strip would be gauged by how big the mess you had to hide was!!! The lightest amount of colouring was used on the bells, but I couldn't resist adding those shiny gems!

The second card has been slightly stepped up with a second layer of Poppy Parade, and after stamping and colouring, the white panel was put though the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. I'm using that quite a lot more than the Subtle folder at the moment, but they are both good for adding a nice bit of texture.

There has been a bit more colouring done to these bells and the Gilded Gems were my choice of embellishment for this card.

With the third card, watercolour paper was used, plus re-inkers and water painters.

It's difficult to say that this is most stepped-up of the 3 cards, as there is little stamping to mess up on this one. However, to use dies you need to have invested in a die cutting machine of some sort, so you would be an avid crafter.

By finishing off the inside, you add value to your creation and this verse included in Cherish The Season, is a kind sentiment.

There is plenty of inspiration out there for using Cherish The Season stamps, Sounds of The Season dies, and did you know that if you bundle them together using the special code below for the bundle, you save 10% off your purchase?

Next along this blog hop is Peta, the Stamping Cat. She is sharing a gorgeous wreath!

  4. All three cards show off this set beautifully. I love the clean look of the first one the most, but all are gorgeous. Love the blue and red with metallic accents as a scheme.

  5. Three wonderful cards, Rachel! I do love the coloured bells on the second card, and the pop of red really sets it off.
