All Is Bright CTC194

Welcome back to another week of CASE-ing The Catty. The crew is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all parts of Australia and New Zealand. You are at the blog of Rachel Palmieri, Independent Stampin' Up!® demonstrator. I run classes at my home studio in South Morang, Victoria, share Stampin' Up!® products and tools at parties for my customers, coach my lovely team and create cards and the occasional 3D project. This week the design team are focusing on pages 4-11 of the NEW Holiday catalogue. Do you have one of those in your hands now? You can order on the 5th September in my online shop, or place your order with your demonstrator, or me, if you don't already have a demonstrator.

Is September too early to think about Christmas? Once upon a time, I hated any mention of  Christmas until after my birthday on November 30th, but if you want to craft beautiful handmade cards, gifts and decor pieces it is the perfect time to begin. However, being a tad lazy I decided to do an almost exact replica of the catalogue sample of the card on page 6, and change up the colours a bit for non-traditional.

Making Christmas Bright stamp set  is a cute, fun, tasteful set. There aren't the funny santas, or other quirky characters, but it isn't religious either. I think it can be perfect for friends and workmates from other cultures too, who obviously get the holiday, but may not celebrate in a traditional way. The stamp set is reasonably priced at $37.00, there is the option to bundle it with the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch and by using a special code for those two items bundled, (#149947) you save 10% off the total. Another option is to pop in the You Can Make It Code on page 7 and with the one code you get all the pieces listed. However, if you already own some of the items, that might not work as well, so I've put my suggested checklist at the end.

I chose Making Christmas Bright stamp set  because it is great for

1. Mass Production
2. Beginner stampers

Step 1: Plan

The key to mass production (and that could be talking about 10 cards or 100) is to do things in steps, beginning with planning your project. If you are CASE-ing the Catty like I did, the planning has been done.

Step 2: Cut card.

I cut my card bases 14.5cm by the width of a sheet of card. Remember I am in Australia, and our card is different dimensions to the States. I score at half, which is 10.6 cm if you like to use the scorer on your Stampin' Trimmer.
Whisper White card for the front - 14cm by 10cm
Whisper White for inside with another layer is 13.5cm by 9.5cm. The coloured layer is 10cm by 14cm.Maybe you're noticing that each layer is a half centimetre less? It's an easy recipe.

Step 3: Stamp

The catalogue sample uses Call Me Clover, Real Red and Crushed Curry. I used Memento Black, Bermuda Bay and Mango Melody. Call Me Clover Stampin' Blend was one of the bulb colours.
All the card front pieces would be stamped with strings of bulbs at the one time. Remember, less is more, you can add some later.
Next I stamped the sentiment and cut the circle. I used a Stitched Shape die on the Big Shot, but a 2¼" circle punch (#143720) will also do the job.

Step 4: Banners

The banners behind the sentiment are strips of card up to 5cm wide. They can have the flag ends hand cut, or use the Banner Triple Punch (so called because there are channels for 3 sizes of strip to fit nicely, but with experience you can use any size up to 5cm wide.

Step 5: Assemble your card.

Adhere the stamped card front to the base using your preferrred method. For speed and accuracy, I use Tombow multi purpose glue, others use Snail adhesive. Banners and sentiment are raised on Dimensionals. These products are all shown on our adhesives page 213.
If you decorate the inside of the card you can just add a 10 by 14cm piece of card, coloured if you want two layers or white if you keep it simple. The second layer is cut .5cm smaller. A little stamping gives a nice touch.

I have provided more information after the next button, but for now you are hopping over to the fabulous Sandra, who is sharing the same stamp set for more inspiration.
