Mother's Day PPA289

The colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts inspired me to make a Mother's Day card. Although my dear Mother is no longer with us, this is exactly the card I'd have made for her. She loved her garden, particularly her roses, and spent many hours in it.
She WAS the best mother, certainly the best one for me!

I had been playing with the Rose Garden Thinlet Dies making mosaics of  three-colour flowers, so it was refreshing to use just Blushing Bride. For some additional depth I've inked some petals using a sponge dauber - I'm loving this effect and will do it more I'm sure. For the leaf, I allowed the pieces to fall out, I'll use them in another version. These framelits are such a lot of fun, you really can do so many things with just them alone. I bought the photopolymer stamps, Rose Wonder. and framelits as a bundle, because even as a demonstrator I get the 15% discount for bundles. The sentiments cover birthdays, weddings and bereavement. I grabbed this whimsical Mother's Day sentiment from A Nice Cuppa. Isn't this a great colour combination?

Cheers, Rachel

    1. Rachel, it touches my heart that you would make a card for your mom after she's gone. Maybe I'll do that too :-) Love your sponging on the rose, it adds depth! Thank you for joining us this week at Pals Paper Arts!
