Stampin' Up! Floral Birthday, FMS#160

I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches to put this birthday card together. The layers took a bit of figuring out, but the end result is very pleasing. I tend to make it all-too-fussy, and I hope I have kept it nice and 'clean'. The blossom from Choose Happiness in Melon Mambo, hand cut with snips is the star of this card. There is a second layer also hand cut. I was looking for a compact sentiment, and settled on the now-retired Banner Greetings. The embossing folder and DSP are both retired too.
Now, do you think that linen thread and rhinestones go together? I decided they did!

To continue this soft appearance, the corners have been rounded and I always use my Envelope Punch Board for that task now. Very pleased to say that I also finished off the inside on this one, so it is ready for giving.

Thanks for passing and reading my blog,
Rachel

  1. Such a nice mix! The simple embossing and the slate background keep it clean with the focus on the lovely flower - and the dots make it celebratory! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
